3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, could do with a little more focus, 31 July 2013

This is quite an interesting documentary, but even at the fairly short time of 60 minutes it seems a little flabby. As much time is spent looking at the buildings as running on them. Plenty of people stroking chins and sucking teeth whilst scoping out landmarks, or slowly ascending lifts. It's padded out with the film makers talking about getting the locations and shots which is a bit meta, as if the documentary doubles as its own "making of" documentary. We also get to watch one of the guys play a free running computer game for rather too long. But it's not dear, and a decent enough watch for anyone into Parkour.

2.0 out of 5 stars Looks can be deceptive, too large, 22 Jan 2013

First impressions of this product are good - you sure do get a lot of plastic for your money. The holder is fully adjustable too so it will fit your phone no matter if it has a case or not.
But now the bad - the sucker is terrible, really hard to get it affixed. If you put it at the top of the windscreen, the long arm of the holder pokes out like a crane. Don't be fooled by the neat main product picture, take a good look at the second photo - check the length of that arm! That's a fearsome construct to be jamming into your peripheral vision, it looms large. After being bopped on the head by it several times I tried to move it to the bottom of the screen, where it just would not stick. Whether due to the angle of the windscreen or what, I have no idea.
Can't really recommend it.

This is a good big bag, I almost thought it was too big of a bag for a small child! Surprised to see the other reviews saying it is low quality and not durable - my 6 year old has had it for over a year and it is nearly as good as the day he got it. He's not that gentle with it either! A different batch?

Despite the exciting name of the product (I had visions of some sort of odour spreading hand grenade) it is slightly mundane in practice. It's like a can of air freshener that you can lock into the spraying position. You set it going and leave it for a while, and when you come back you can guarantee your car is going to smell differently! It's very strong at first, but fades after a few hours. It's not unpleasant or overly chemical.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product for the price, 17 Jan 2013

This is a worthy purchase - cheap but high quality. The gel case is great and as well as protecting the phone makes gripping it much easier. It does not seem to interfere with Wifi or GPS signals (I've had this happen with other phones).
The screen protector is fine too, just your standard type. Can be pot luck when applying as regards air bubbles and trapped dirt specks but that is true of them all!

The sock is pretty much surplus to requirements, but for this price it makes no impact on the recommendation.

Moshi Monsters Moshi Advent Calendar

5.0 out of 5 stars A good solid advent calendar, 7 Dec 2012

This is a good purchase, a must for any Moshi-loving kid. Unlike some other toy calendars no corners are cut, each day has a figure behind it, and they are special Christmas themed versions.
One small criticism is that the box is not terribly sturdy. Eager little hands ripping open the doors may do rather more damage than they intend, granting unexpected sneak peeks at moshlings yet to come!

Compared to something like the Moshi Monster calendar, this is really quite disappointing. Only about a third of the doors actually have a little figure behind them, the rest have various plastic oddities, some of which are so small you practically need a microscope to see them. Apparently they all stick together to make a set at the end, but that's little comfort when on day 5 you open the calendar to find a little bag of miniscule nondescript plastic fragments.
At the reduced price, it's a "maybe" - at the RRP it would be a travesty.

4.0 out of 5 stars Charming little rhythm game, 6 April 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Having bought this on the strength of the demo (see Nintendo, they do work!) I haven't been disappointed. It's a sort of Professor Layton meets Elite Beat Agents mash up. You play "Phantom R", a young art thief searching for his missing father. The action is set in Paris, which is charmingly rendered and the meat of the action is in the rhythm games which have a good variety to them. Like the best games in the genre, when it all comes together it makes you feel like you really do have some great musical talent which I can assure you I do not. The situations are amusing ("no-one can escape the police rollerskating division!"). I defy anyone not to smile at this game!

There are some puzzles too, but these are fairly simplistic, which is ok for me as I don't really want distracted too much from the core musical elements.

Downsides are few - it is fairly easy (you won't fail many games even on your first try), so the challenge will be to get 'A' ranks which makes the rather loose scoring scheme a bit of a disappointment. It also doesn't autosave which is rather a throwback in the world of video games, so an absent minding exiting could cost you quite a bit of progress! (On the plus side, it has 3 save slots).

The 3D is good, though cross-talk is an issue with the art style, and it is hard to keep from jiggling about to the music, which plays havoc with the stereoscopic effect. Arguably those are system problems (although the latest Nintendo first party offerings have made good progress in mitigating these 3D issues).

In summary, a fine and charming little game.

EDIT: I have now completed this game, and feel it only fair to update my review. I complained above it was fairly easy, but the challenge level REALLY ramps up towards the end. Luckily you can buy "items" with in game currency to help you get through. So, if you are holding of as you are afraid it is not challenging, don't be!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but some quality concerns, 4 May 2011

This is a very nice watch, looks unusual and stands out. One small issue is how bizarrely loud it is. In a quiet room you can really hear it ticking from a couple of metres away! And I also had to return the first one I bought, the plastic strap is very inflexible which led to a small split which soon led to the strap breaking. Replacement seems ok so far.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible product, 3 May 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Binatone HomeSurf 8 Android Tablet
This is an awful device. The worst of it is, Binatone have obviously tried their best - build quality is fine, and the manual is very good. It comes with a nice little cover and charging stand. But as a tablet computer it is just outright unusable. This old version of Android is plainly unsuitable for a tablet. It is clunky and slow, and the touch screen is terribly unresponsive. To top it all, the wi-fi reception is terrible - I have to stand in the same room as my router for it to work!

You might be able to salvage some functionality by using it as a media player, but as a web tablet it falls very far short of what is acceptable. Save up for a proper tablet!
