4.0 out of 5 stars Like New Order Buy This, 20 April 2004
This review is from: In Session (Audio CD)
Ok if like me, you have everything that New Order have released, remix CDsthe lot, then what would you want with another version of these songs? Well to be honest, I had no idea either and I only purchased this to getmy delivery free from Amazon. But, after the first play, it's not beenout of my CD drive. I know that these old favorites are timeless but...
The quality of the recording is excellant and they all play in tune (NewOrder have been rubbish live in the past) and the instrument mix is great. The bass is distinct, the drums have that raw; live edge and the singingisn't flat.
Finally the version of Tranmission is part of the 'enhanced CD' which is a'video' that requires to be played through your PC.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Trane for Fans, 26 Oct. 2003
Ok so this is an 'expensive' box set but if you like John Coltrane or jazz then this is an excellant, buy and keep set. Probably not an entry point into Jazz, in that case I would suggest in a silent way by Miles Davies. But John Coltrane was a saxophone visionary and this demonstartes John stil being innovative. His loss left a hole in the world of music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back to Old Form, 23 Oct. 2003
This review is from: Streetcore (Audio CD)
This could be a Clash CD by another name. The sound is updated, and Joe is in fine form with his gritty vocals and lyrics calling you. I know that some people may see this as a cash in after his sad death. While there are a couple of cover versions they still stand well against the other strong tracks. Don't down load a copy, this is worth buying and keeping.
