There are times you need a cable and can't find it. Scary, you have to order a replacement online. It came very fast and was perfect for the job. Would I use this company again? Of course.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great and deep, 18 Aug 2012

There are times when you will have to read a page or a paragraph several times. This book digs deep and makes big and shocking claims about writing, language and nature. However, every claim is heavily backed up with scientific discovery.

The more you read, the more you learn about truly special things about how we humans communicate. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested at a deep level in how we write and speak - and even how we listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating Read in Two Ways, 18 Aug 2012
This book is special and different.
I met Vinay a couple of years ago and watched him deliver a speech that included a lot of the pains and challenges in his past - but in a way that was not sob sob - pretty challenging considering the content.

Now I have been reading the book for hours - because it is hard to put down! The two special things about this book are the way Vinay calmly recounts pain and loss in a way that is easy to take - and the way he describes the life of a middle class Indian in England.
It is truly fascinating. Yes, he speaks motivationally - but in a personal way. He shows what he has done to not only survive time after time but to ultimately thrive.
If life knocks you down, ok. If you stay down, that's your choice. Vinay found his way to stand up again, and I celebrate that.

Really, read it.

This review is from: Vision Revolution, The (Paperback)
When you read this book your whole idea of seeing and sight changes. It is deep and challenging - and heavily backed up by science. Fascinating, a great read. At times dense ideas - but explained in simple language. If you are interested in perception you just have to read it. Be prepared to work with the book though, not just skim it - otherwise you will be wasting your time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book good film better, 10 July 2012
It was years after starring in the film that I read the book. A very good book - and a lot of the good bits were not in the film we made! If you see the film, then read the book. If you read the book, then see the film.

This is about the nuts and bolts of emotion - from a top world scientist. At times the writing is technical - as in, not written in a populist way. Stick with it and learn.

Some of the greatest read the greatest. Can't go wrong. It doesn't. Would my performance be the same? No, that's why this is such a good disk. These are some of the high-wire bits of Shakespeare - the bits you REALLY have to understand to read - and getting that understanding can take years. If you love Shakespeare, if you want to understand Shakespeare, if you love love stuff, buy this and enjoy it. Fergus McClelland - Ex-Royal Shakespeare Company.

Dunbar makes the complex simple and illuminates with every sentence. This is not an academic treatise - and yet it is. Stuffed with fascinating detail about why we natter. I bought all of Dunbar's books on Amazon and they are all excellent.
