3.0 out of 5 stars Look at buying the TomTom Viva Live 120 or TomTom GoLive 1000/5 if you want Full European mapping they have 4GB internal memory, 5 Jan 2011
There are many reviews for this product so I will summarise as follows:

This is a very good Sat Nave which is easy to use and navigates well straight out of the box.

The internal memory is 2GB which is fine for UK maps but not so good if you want full European mapping.

If you connect it to your computer to update maps etc STOP!

This model only has 2GB of internal memory which can not be increased and as such it can not accommodate the updated full European maps as they amount to more than 2GB. If you do update you can only store elements of the European maps at any one time.

You there for would also not be able to have maps for the USA or Australasia on the device at the same time as having UK/Europe maps. As these counties are popular destinations for Europeans renting cars it makes the 2GB memory limit very disappointing

The models that have larger internal memory (4GB) are the "Tom Tom Viva Live 120" or "Tom Tom Go Live 1000/1005" which do cost more but they can accommodate all your maps.

I have no idea why Tom Tom chose to put such little memory in their device when the price of memory is so affordable, (8GB SD cards now cost under 10 pounds) or indeed offer the capability to expand the memory with a SD card. So if you're reading this Tom Tom please can you put more memory in all your Sat Nav's (8GB+ and an expansion slot please)

5.0 out of 5 stars It workes, 2m long, black not blue, same as original GameCube extention lead, 5 Oct 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
It workes fine with the length and thickness of cord, along with the connectors, being the same as the original GameCube extention lead. My connectors were black not blue but so what. It is 2 meters in length, again, the same as the original version.
I think thats all you can say about an extension lead.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great alternative to original Xbox Microsoft controler, 22 Aug 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
I have the old original Xbox and was looking for a 2nd controller. all the original microsoft controlers were used or expensive if you could find an unused one.
This controler is fine, it feels no diferent to the original and workes just as well with all the same buttons in all the same places. Rumble function also worked fine.
The only difference, hence the 4 star rating, is that the lead does not have the ability to split in two so that you can add an extension cord to it.
So all good, cheap and effective what else do you need.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Notebook well worth the money, 10 Feb 2010
Think Portability/Travel, Prtability/Travel, Prtability/Travel.

I used this Samsung N220 for a week or so and found it to be a really great notebook.

Primerily looking for ultra portability, strong build and long battery life the N220 really delivered.

If you want something for traveling this is a great choice due to its solid uncluttered construction, Very clear well detailed 10.1" matt screen (ideal for outdoors as it is non reflective) and long battery life (I got 8-10 hours out of it for general computing which is great (It is advertised as having 11 hours life)

The keyboard looks like it has punch buttons but they work very well and keep the construction to the robust theam found in the general design of this notebook.

The Touch pad was also good and responsive, however due to the naturaly small size the left and right mouse clickers were a little fiddely compared to a full size unit.

Boots up quickly with Windows 7 stater edition which is also simple to navigate, reliable with great functionality. Better than XP and streets ahead of Vista, everything is made easy with Windows 7.

Samsung include Hyper Space fast start which is their front end/Desktop which is meant to enhance battery life and performance but I just found it irritating, thankfully you can choose to turn it off or on.

This unit does not have a DVD player so you will need to buy an external DVDRW that will be powered from the USB. I used the LG DVDRW Model Number GP08NU20 which worked sraight out of the box with this Samsung notebook.

The Notebook has 3 x USB, I x VGA out, SD card reader, 3.5mm Headphone scocket, bluetooth & Wireless B,G & N

When I fist turned the machine on and it did the usual windows updates the machine seemed slow and slugish but after a day it seemed to speed up, no idea why, and worked well. Not as fast as a standard laptop but still very usable. It played DVD movies fine however when using MPEG4 video on the Windows Media player software the play back was jurky, by downloading QuckTime player from the apple web site and using that to watch MPEG4 video the problem when away.

One thing that did suprise me was the sound quality, which was fantastic for let alone a laptop but for a notbook of this side was magic. It has a small subwoofer as well as left and right speakers which makes the difference, you can actualy play music and find it listenable, unlike most every other laptop.

The Notebook has the latest Intel Atom N450 1.66Ghz processor and comes with a single slot for the RAM. The RAM supplied is 1GB but you could swap this out for a maximum of 2GB. It also has a super 250GB hard drive which you can choose the partition size of when it first starts up.

Software includes Microsoft Works for viewing and making word & spreadsheet documents etc. It also has a trial version of Windows office Home Student 2007 and windows Live Suite which has a great photo viewer and e-mail application (replaces outlook express I gess)plus other security software & sumsung software.

Size wise it is 272mm wide x 188.5mm deep x 29.8mm thich and weighs 1.2kg, the A/C power adaptor is also very small ideal for travel.

So a realy great travel companion then which an be used on the road or at home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Faster than a notebook and has 8 hour battery life, 10 Feb 2010
I bought this Toshiba Satellite T110-11U with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed after reading a number of mixed reviws, however after using this product and a Samsung N220 10.1" notebook (which is also excellent) my preference is for this Toshiba 11.6" ulta portable laptop.

I use the Toshiba for web access, e-mail, Word/Excel, watching photos & movies and it does it all very very well.

I wanted portability and durability and I feel the Toshiba delivers this. It is well made with a nice keyboard action, clear and detailed scren (gloss)which I find very easy to view inside and out and a nice mouse action from the good size touch pad.

I read a review that said the touch pad/mouce stuttered and the sereen was annoying at times but I just don't get these problems, possibly a subsiquent software update has resolved these matters.

The unit has wireless b,c & N, 1 x HDMI, 3 x USB (one of which you can set up so it supplies power to an accessory even if the machine is in standby or switched of) Multi card reader (SD, XD, Memory stick), VGA out, 3.5mm headphone out, 3.5mm mic in, Fast Eternet port & webcam.

It is lite and measures 28.5 cm wide x 21.5cm deep x 3cm thick. Battery lasted 8 hours on my unit. It comes with Microsoft Works to write & view documents and a trial version of Office 2007 home student.

There is other Toshiba and security software included but it is up to you if you choose to use them or un-intall them and just install the software that fits your needs.

There is a programme from Toshiba that protects the hard drive by parking the drive heads if the machine is moved to quickly which can be irritating but you can turn this application off so nothing there to worry about.

You will need an external DVD-RW rive if you want to play DVD or load software from a CD /DVD. These can be bought for as little as £[] and will run off the USB power i.e you don't have to plug the DVDRW in to the mains. I bought a LG DVDRW model GP08NU20 for under £[] which worked seamlesly with the Toshiba.

So I am very happy with this machine, it cost me under £[], it's speed is like a normal laptop, it has all the connections and functionality (assuming you buy a external DVDRW), it is light and portable with a good screen, keyboard & touchpad and has an 8 hour battery life. Oh and the A/C mains adaptor is very small and portable as well. Well done Toshiba

4.0 out of 5 stars works well with Windows 7 on 2005 pentiom-4 3.2 Ghz Philips Mt2100 computer, 29 Dec 2009
I bought this to replace ATI Radeon 9250SE in my Philips MT2100 as I was upgrading to Window 7 from XP Home with 1GB of RAM. The Windows 7 upgrade checker indecated the the old card would not support the Areo function thus the need to up-grade the card.
As this is an older machine I could only choose from cards with a AGP interface. Looking at all the cards and with my computer having a power supply of 300 Watts this card looke a good fit.
I don't use it for gaming just watching movies, web, music and office functionality.
Movies play as clearly and smoothy as they do through a up-scaling stand alone DVD player.
If you run multiple aplications at the same time the video image may freeze momentaraly but I think that is the processor/RAM not the graphics card
The card does not have a fan so it is totaly silent
It installed with out any problem with Windows 7 recognising it upgrading it to the latest drivers
So for the money I can't find fault with it. 4 stars as you can buy a better card but you would spend more money and it would have to be compatible with the other components in your machine

Energizer Portable Charger with 2x AA 2500mAh and 2x AAA 1000mAh batteries
Energizer Portable Charger with 2x AA 2500mAh and 2x AAA 1000mAh batteries

3.0 out of 5 stars If you think this charger is broken STOP! don't put it in the bin yet, 4 July 2009
The charger consists of a UK 13 amp 3 pin plug which houses the transformer. The lead from this plug then plugs in to the plastic base unit (12 v 1 amp output) and the 2 x plastic battery pods drop in to the base unit. To charge just plug in to a wall socket that's it.

On the plus side:

1) The charger is light, fairly compact and can be broken down in to its base units making it easy to travel with.

2) This charger has 2 removable pods which hold 4 batteries each and comes supplied with 2x AA 2650mAh cells & 2x AAA 1000mAh cells.

3) Each pod has 2 x toggle bars inside which allows you to convert between AA size and AAA size batteries, so you could theoretically have a mix of AA & AAA in a single pod. Or so you may think, but actually you can't please read on.

4) There is an indicator on each pod which shows the state of the charge, red, red amber for charging and sold green for fully charged. Nice and simple

5) Charge times are as stated, 3hr per pod which is not bad

6) The unit is easy to use. Just plug in and away you go.

So on the whole it sounds as good as you are going to get, as an all round value for money proposition, however when I tried to charge 2 x AA & 2 x AAA in one pod it did not work, no charging status lights nothing.

When I tried a mixture of AA batteries of different capacities i.e. some 2500mAH and some 2100mAH in one pod it did not work.

So I was about to through it away as I thought it was broken until I read a review on Amazon touching on this issue. Putting matching higher capacity batteries back in the pods got it working again.

There for the down side is that if you have a mixed set of batteries capacities, batteries of poor condition, and batteries with low mAH ratings you could quite probably find this charger problematic or even totally useless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable wireless printer, 24 Nov 2008
This is my second wireless printer, the last one being a Lexmark, which broke after 18 months and was not economic to repair.

The HP6410 I found to be far more reliable than my old Lexmark and a little more compact.

The HP6140 can connect either wireless, USB, Ethernet and Bluetooth.

Fax, scan, print, copy and best of all it has a 250 sheet paper tray as opposed the, circa, 100 sheet tray many of its rivals use

The unit takes 1 x colour & 1 x Black and white cartridge. Initially it appeared to drink ink, however if you buy the XL size cartridge and adjust the print setting to normal or draft use the ink will last as long as most any other ink jet printer out there based on the same settings.

Print quality is very good in black & white and colour, text or photo. You can also buy a photo ink cartridge to swap out for the black cartridge for better photo quality.

There is a memory card reader, however I have not used this feature.

The document feeder works well and I cannot remember when the unit last jammed.

The software supplied is comprehensive and whilst, due to the size, took a while to load all installed with out fault and connectivity to my computer went well.

Print speed is quick and the unit is quite

All in all this is the compact, large paper capacity; wireless all in one printer I had been looking for

Sony DVPFX720W - 7" Portable DVD Player

5.0 out of 5 stars A great buy at a great price, 31 May 2008
This Sony replaces my 7" Phillips portable.

Used primarily by my children and also on flights & holidays, 2 key areas of importance for me are battery life and durability. The Sony ticks both boxes giving a true 5-hour battery life and a sturdy well put together frame made from quality material.

I found the image quite detailed, clear and easy to view, sound quality good for the size of the unit and included all the features you would expect on a DVD player

Compared to my old unit and other units I looked at, in today's market, even when put against some much more expensive units the Sony still won the day.

I'm Sure there are some better units out there but I could not find one at this price point.

The unit also features audio & composite video INPUT as well as OUTPUT, 2 x headphone sockets, USB input for memory sticks and card readers as well as a hold button to disable the unit's controls if required. The screen also opens fully flat to the unit (180 deg not 360deg). There is however no S-video or component out/inputs.

The thin battery attaches secularly to the bottom of the unit creating a well-proportioned player that does not feel particularly bulky. Charge time from flat can be up to 5 hours with a battery indicator function to tell you how much charge is left.

The unit comes with a remote control & a car battery adaptor that plugs in to the cigarette lighter socket.

As for formats it will play DVD DVD-RW/-R, DVD+RW/+R, VIDEO CD/MUSIC CD CD-RW/-R, DivX, MP3 and JPEG

After extended use I am very pleased with the unit and would happily recommend it as a cost effective 7" portable DVD player

3.0 out of 5 stars Choose the right enviroment when applicating for best results, 25 May 2008
On the down side:

There is only ONE protective screen included in the pack.
The sticky side of the protective screen attracts dust.
When you include the cost of delivery to this item it becomes a very expesive for one film of plastic material.

On the plus side:

The fit of the protective screen is very accurate to that of the screen of the ARCHOS.
The clarity of the imiage through the protective screen is very good.
The material of the protective screen is very robust.

Summary:

If you can fit this screen to the unit in a non dusty enviroment and line it up to the sreen well first time round taking care push out the bubbles with the supplyed cloth as you slowly apply it to the screen it will work well.
If you don't align it right at the start and need a number of attempts, whilst it attracks more and more dust particles, it will be a disapointment.
