Both this audiobook and Pillars of the Earth are extremely well-read by Richard E Grant.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, a bit IV Form, but no Ian MacDonald this...., 24 May 2010
What this book does convey is the absolutely massive impact Zeppelin achieved very early, and very quickly, in the US. I would have liked a few more personal insights and impressions from the author. There is very little for the muso and no indication other than the author just likes what hears. That's where Ian MacDonald, god bless him, excelled with Revolution in the Head.

But a very enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars So many highlights, 27 Sep 2009
I love the guitar riff that can stitch sheet metal on Wanton Song and the insidious sex groove of Custard Pie balanced by cymbal work as delicate as spun silver by Bonzo on In the Light. A beautiful album.

See this and realise how great actors have great voices; you won't hear any here. Toy Story sounds better than this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Erotic Fun for Couples, 3 Jan 2006
This review is from: Tinto Brass Collection [DVD] (DVD)
By no means hardcore but very nicely rude with large dashes of humour thrown in. Great for fans of the natural female form. I couldn't see any silicone here. Gorgeous lingerie and some arousing fantasy elements. Did I mention the saddle sniffing? We'd love to hear what other couples think!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Imax Film, 26 Dec 2005
My wife and I were lucky enough to get tickets to see this at an Imax cinema and it was eye boggling. The details as the crane cams and helicopter cams moved around was stunning. So much on screen at once. The sound was possibly 7.1 and it was extremely well mixed; we heard football rattles and klaxons pin pointed in space. Made the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. They really love it and they are a killer rock and roll band. Thanks for the trouble guys - and re-release it please!

5.0 out of 5 stars Much better headphones than an I Pod, 22 Jan 2004
This device feels really well made. The supplied headphones are good quaity and comfortable which means you will enjoy listening. I find I Pod-type phones irritataing and uncomfortable.
This device can be had for a lot less than the current Amazon price and about half the price of an I Pod so, for me, it's a no-brainer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sympathetic electronic exposition of The Planets, 24 Sep 2003
This review is from: Planets (Audio CD)
This album by synthesiser maestro Isao Tomita should be in any classical or rock collection. The version of Mars is truly chilling as wave upon wave of electronic battleships deliver awesome sonic payloads. Just try and listen to the version of Jupiter and Saturn on a powerful system as you hear the relentless march of time and the approach of the reaper. You can bet your friends that they can't hear this cranked up and keep their eyes closed such is the imagery it conjures from the dark;it is quite disorienting and truly terrifying listening.
