5.0 out of 5 stars Great for quantified self-stuff, 12 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Just about to get into the API for this. Fitbit's support, community and execution is much better than its competitors.

5.0 out of 5 stars An underrated classic, 12 July 2011
A collaboration between Super Furry Animals' frontman Gruff Rhys and producer Boom Bip, this album tells the story of the rise and fall of John Delorean (the northern Irish carmaker). They describe it as "a very frivolous electro-pop record about the first playboy engineer".

Reading the blurb this album shouldn't really work, but it does. Musically it nostalgically channels 80's pop while somehow putting a modern electronic slant on proceedings. It's a real mix of slower numbers, great pop tunes and hip-hop heavy tracks, the latter keeping you on your toes while never grating. The lyrics are great, full of depth yet on the surface quite whimsical.

Highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hardware is fine, Software is useless, 30 Oct 2009
I have to concur with the other reviewers: until somebody (either OWL, their manufacturers or an amateur with time on their hands) opens up the data from this device it is pretty much a fancy paperweight, which is a shame because it is all so nearly there.

The supplied Windows software is useless and provides no logging facility or ability to funnel the data to third party applications. Ideally you need a program to save live data to the net for monitoring and export.

The shame is that if OWL did open up their proprietary drivers there are hundreds of folks that would make excellence use of this device, as the hardware does not need changing.

5.0 out of 5 stars A paradoxically straightforward account of a realm thats anything but, 27 April 2006
This is one of the most easily understandable guides to quantum physics that I have read. Filled with creative analogies and anecdotes, this books allows the general reader to get their head around the facts at the edge of our knowledge. The author's livetime of physical research and tales of fellow big names in physics adds a human touch to a subject which can easily become bogged down in math and concept. Whilst we may not all be Einstein or Dirac we can peak into their world from our armchairs with this text.
