Halo: Reach Legendary Edition (Xbox 360)
Halo: Reach Legendary Edition (Xbox 360)

5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than the last one., 19 Nov. 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This is probably one of the best (and most expensive) collector's editions I've ever purchased, certainly wasn't disappointed with the contents. Here's what you get for your money:

- An exclusive, limited edition Noble Team 'statue' comprised of nice heavy McFarlane figures fixed to a large base. The sculpts are highly accurate and fairly well painted, though the base they're on is a bit of a let-down. Also, attaching certain pieces of weaponry to the figures without accidentally snapping something can be fiddly (Here's looking at you and that heavy machine gun, Jorge). Nonetheless, it does look beautiful when it's displayed in a well-lit area and is sure to make a great conversation piece when you invite your mates around.

- The entire contents of the Limited Edition version of the game. That's right, the lot. The game itself is housed within a replica ONI black box along with a sealed, labeled package containing Dr. Halsey's journal, an iron-on UNSC patch, various fluff material such as medical records, news clippings, photos and an ID card amongst other things. The journal itself is a very interesting read if you're big on the expanded universe of the Halo series.

- Halo Reach itself, which you are bound to become addicted to within the first five minutes. Also enclosed in the case are codes for the in-game flaming helmet, Elite armour, an avatar item and the "making of" video on marketplace.

- The thick cardboard 'crate' has it's uses too, if you don't fancy throwing it away after unboxing this gargantuan offering of goodies. Makes a nice footstool and/or storage container if you're not worried about keeping it in absolute pristine condition. It should also be noted that the foam inlay that protects the Noble Team statue is stamped with the ONI insignia. Great attention to detail right there.

Overall, the offering this time around is a massive improvement on Halo 3's Legendary set (Really now? Two bonus discs and a fancy game holder?) and is definitely worth picking up if you're a die-hard Halo fan. If you could do without the statue though, the cheaper Limited Edition version of the game won't fail to impress either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential decor if you're a Half-Life fan, 6 Jan. 2009
If you happen to be a Half-Life fanatic and you manage to find one of these on eBay or elsewhere, get it. It's printed on good-quality paper, double-sided (There's an image of Gordon and Alyx on the back with the lambda symbol) and it's a good size. Perfect poster for any video game addict's room :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the old series, 21 Oct. 2008
The OVA is vastly superior to it's older counterpart (The 13 episode series by GONZO).
This series' plotline is more true to the original manga, with a lovely mix of crisp 2D animation and 3D graphics. Each episode runs for an hour, so you're getting your money's worth. Voice acting is brilliant, and I'm glad that they actually included Millennium in this series.

Personally, I already own the first four OVA DVDs (Couldn't wait, bought the limited edition imports from America and Japan.) and I'm eagerly anticipating the fifth OVA. It's just a shame that they aren't releasing the tin sets over here with the relief figures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Halo 3, 26 Sept. 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This is absolutely amazing, the best game I've played so far! The gameplay, graphics and soundtrack have been improved, new vehicles and weaponry have been introduced, and the plot is good so far. Halo 3 is a necessity for ANYONE who owns an Xbox 360. It's just that good, and words don't do it justice.

In addition to the game, the Limited Edition comes with a mini-poster, a bonus disc and a neat little hardcover guide to the different species of the Halo universe; All packed in a steel box.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning box set., 17 Dec. 2006
I was hesitant to actually remove this from the box, because the 'grotto' packaging seemed to make a lovely backdrop for the figures. Basically, you get Cursed Barbossa, Cursed Jack, the chest full of Cortez' cursed gold, three stands and a load of accessories (Including Jack's Bottle of Rum and Barbossa's monkey, which is pretty hard to balance on Barbossa's shoulder)

If you were thinking of posing these figures often or playing with them, then be careful with Jack's left arm as it can break easily. The skeletal fingers on their hands are also pretty fragile.

Like most of NECA's other sets, this one has brilliant detail. (Barbossa's hat even has a little feather on top ^_^ )

I'd recommend this if you're a Pirate fan or a model collector, or if you're just looking for some figures that aren't made by McFarlane.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly-Addictive Pirate RPG!, 30 Oct. 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is great! There's a vast ocean to sail, plunder to be pilfered from the Spanish Armada and various ships to steal. Plus, you get to face-off with some of the most notorious pirates of the age (Bart Roberts and Blackbeard to name a few)

Graphics are excellent, the gameplay is addictive and there's definite replayability.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent collector's model, 30 Aug. 2006
I simply adore this figure, it's detailed right down to the gut-wrenching stare. Whilst this model isn't articulated for play (It's from Resident Evil anyway; No child should be playing those games) It makes a very nice collector's item, and it's definitely worth buying if you're a fan of Resident Evil 4!

2.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, 8 May 2006
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
These 'bendable' action figures are hardly bendable, and the paint-job is hopelessly disgusting. Personally, I'd save my money and buy the ReSaurus toys, but these WOULD be good if you were to use them as targets for your Gundam or B'Daman figures. Overall, there's very poor detail, a disgusting paint-job, and the figures hardly bend properly.

Beyblade - Wolborg 2 #A-39 (Endurance/Defense)
Beyblade - Wolborg 2 #A-39 (Endurance/Defense)

5.0 out of 5 stars Good when coupled with a Magnacore base, 6 May 2006
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This blade is amazing on it's own, but if you put the weight disk and attack ring onto a Draciel magnacore base then it becomes a spinning ring of destruction (as far as Beyblading is concerned.) I decimated an Engine-gear powered Zeus blade with this strategy. However, if you're not into customisation, then I suggest buying the Wolborg 1 first, because it has better all-round stats and the base isn't gripped, allowing more manouverability. You should only really use the grip-bearing base of Wolborg 2 in a stadium with a 'bowl' shape, like the Cyber Dragoon stadium.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent item!, 6 May 2006
When I first bought this figure, I was absolutely amazed at it's size. This figure's wingspan means that it literally takes over the shelf! It also makes sound effects if you press the 'button' on it's upper torso. Any Yu-Gi-Oh fan or figure collector would love this product!
