3.0 out of 5 stars CG-Freaky Styley Review, 23 Jan. 2007
This review is from: Freaky Styley (Audio CD)
This is unquestionably the funkiest of the Chili Peppers records as every track follows the funk scale. The front cover gives you an idea that the record is strange and deluded and it hits it spot on.The album uses a wider range of instruments than most chili peppers albums which adds various effects to the record and adds a nice touch.Jungleman is not a bad start and then Hollywood sparks up hope.American Ghost Dance and If you want Me to stay are another good two records and then it goes mental.

For those of you who can decipher the words in Nevermind,Sex Rap or Blackeyed Blonde have a very special talent. They all sound like pointless rambles.Considering the music you can hear isnt too bad and that Yertle the Turtle and Freaky Styley arent bad it isnt an overly terrible album like the first the chilis produced. The best song would be American Ghost Dance in my opinionand the worst?Nevermind....I would suggest this album to anyone as it is an interesting differnt record.

5.0 out of 5 stars CG-By the Way Review, 23 Jan. 2007
This review is from: By the Way (Audio CD)
Another 5 star chili peppers record but not the finest.Reason being, its slightly watered down compared to BloodSugar and Californication but still hosts some very fine songs. The first two songs on the album go from one extreme element of this album to the other with the bass pumping electrifying By the Way to the mellow sounding, easy going Universally Speaking. Both of which are great songs. This is the Place adds a slightly darker aspect to the album but only Dont forget Me continues to dwell in this background. If you want to hear the more sympathetic lovesounding chili peppers songs this is the album to hear-Dosed,The Zephyr Song,I Could Die For You,Tear and Warm Tape are all beautiful sons in their own right. The only song I didnt like was Midnight which isnt too bad but it feels strange and you cant tell which aspect it goes into. The best song on the album is probably,at a push Cant Stop although Venice Queen would certainly run it close.I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys music and highlight it as a must have for any chili peppers fan.

2.0 out of 5 stars CG-Red Hot Chili Peppers Album Review, 22 Jan. 2007
This review is from: Red Hot Chili Peppers (Audio CD)
Im afraid this is the worst Chili Peppers album and would agree that the prescence of Hillel Slovak and Jackie Irons would have turned it round. It starts well with True Men Dont Kill Coyotes and looks vaguely promising.

The second song almost made my heart internally bleed. As a big chili peppers fan I was shocked that Baby Appeal was even recorded it is the worst song I have ever heard, ever.Buckle Down isnt bad,Green Heaven could be a classic on another record.Get up and Jumps ok but beware of Out in La.The original demo on this record is way better.THis is slightly dissappointing for thier first record.

5.0 out of 5 stars CG-Californication Review, 22 Jan. 2007
This review is from: Californication (Audio CD)
This is almost the best Chili Peppers album ever made although when your up against BloodSugarSexMagik its no easy contest. This is one of the most intellegent albums youll ever hear with Californication provoking awe inspiring originality. It starts off superbly with Around the World and you instantly think this is what One Hot Minute was missing. Then the album moves on to another cracker,Parallel Universe which should be an air guitar legend.if your not impressed by then you have Scar Tissue which is of another league to anything bar Under the Bridge and I could have Lied.It could be the most impressive first three songs in a row of all time.I feel this album has been overshadowed by the dark goings on of John Frusciante although the album is the fire and he is the initial spark. The best song on the album in my opinion is This Velvet Glove as it offers a new perspective on the funkrock theme of the chili peppers and is incredibly intellegent in music and verbalisation.Other stunners would be Californication,Scar Tissue,Around the World,Parallel Universe and Purple Stain. This album is highly recommended and take the time to listen to it or you may miss something extraordinary.

5.0 out of 5 stars CG-BloodSugarReview-Greatest Album ever made, 22 Jan. 2007
This review is from: Blood Sugar Sex Magik (Audio CD)
This is what I firmly believe is this the best album ever made. There is not one complaint at all about it,it is perfect. With this it may host the best song ever made Under the Bridge. Its unexplainably cool and original, the songs link up beautifully, its clever, hard hitting,to the point and is better than the mindless nonscence you will here from any modern day punk group. At times it is loud and raucous(Suck my Kiss),at times it is beautiful on a phenomenal scale(I could have Lied),at times it is so outrageous that its excellent!(Sir Psycho Sexy).

1.Power of Equality-10/10-Fast,Funky and decietfully intellegent.

2.If you have to ask-9/10-Keeps the set pace and not bad in its own right.

3.Breaking the Girl-10/10-Thoughtful,Beautiful and Personal.

4.Funky Monks-9/10-Interesting mix of start-stop and guitar riffs.

5.Suck My Kiss-10/10-Loud,hard driven,sware motivated and excellent.

6.I Could have Lied-10/10-Something else,Beautiful and makes you think.

7.MellowshipSinBMajor-8/10-My least favourite but its not bad.

8.Righteous&The Wicked-9/10-Great build up for give it away, works well.

9.Give it Away-10/10-That amount of energy for four minutes is phenomenal!

10-BloodSugarSexMagik-9/10-Concieves a different light on the record

11-Under the Bridge-10/10-Classic.Nothing like it,in the world,ever.

12-Naked in the Rain-8/10-Good listening,slightly repetitive.

13-Apache Rose Peacock-10/10-Another high point, funkiest tune on the album

14-The Greeting Song-9/10-Good Tune,Dont know why its towards the end.

15-My Lovely Men-10/10-Tribute to Hillel Slovak,Id be proud if i were him.

16-Sir Psycho Sexy-10/10-Penultimate 8 minute masterpiece, great guitar finish to the song that sums up a phenomenal record.

17-Theyre Red Hot-9/10-Perfectly Placed to add a nice touch to the end of the album and to cool you down.

Overall, phenomenal record, essential piece of music history.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cg-Stadium Arcadium Review, 22 Jan. 2007
This review is from: Stadium Arcadium (Audio CD)
I thought Stadium Arcadium was another great piece of work by the Chili Peppers as it was completely different from anything theyve ever done and again everything clicked.Jupiter would be my preference over the second disc Mars as I feel Mars slightly loses the edge towards the end.The album shows great imagination and hosts further evidence that Anthony Kiedis is an elite songwriter.I feel that this album lets John Frusciante show the world what a fabulous guitarist he is(incase you didnt know already)the best evidence being his performance in Snow(Hey Oh).The best song on the album in my opinion is Wet Sand which is one of the best Chili Peppers songs I have ever heard. The lyrics, bass line, drum beats and

guitarmusic are the best I have heard in years.Hard to Concentrate,Tell Me Baby,Snow,Especially in Michigan and She Looks to Me are also excellent standouts. The only real shock horror is Hump de Bump and if the album were without it it would almost merit all 5 stars.Overall,it is an excellent album and is definatly guaranteed to anybody as it will meet a greater range of music tastes than previous Chili Peppers albums.
