5.0 out of 5 stars Good results for my mac monitors, 11 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Subjectively, the accuracy of the results seems good if not better than previous display profiling systems that I've used. The software seems stable and robust but appears a bit rough around the edges in terms of user interface, wording and explanation could be improved. It can be run in an almost totally automated mode, and also set manually if particular or precise setting are required. To my eyes the X-Rite i1Display Pro gives good results, it appears solid and well made and offers good value for the money, I'm very happy with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good insight if your into photography theory, 8 Mar 2013

“Photography Degree zero” presents 13 critical essays written over the past 30 or so years on “Camera Lucida”, probably Roland Barthe’s most cited and controversial text. Translated from the French original, “Camera Lucida” is not the easiest book to read or follow and I found “Photography Degree zero” gave a great insight into the interpretations made by a series of American and British academic from various disciplines and helped considerably with my understanding and interpretation of the original text.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4, 1 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
An excellent book, I used the authors book on photoshop CS4. Coming from Photoshop and Bridge I had a difficulty seeing where Lightroom would fit into my workflow. With my first couple of uses of Lightroom i emulated the workflow that I was familiar with while using Bridge which ment Lightroom was little more than a keyword sorter for my images. The author writes clearly and explains functionality well, to make the most of lightrooms capabilities you need to really understand its image management system and the book did this very well. Lightroom is a large program with a lot of features. You won't learn it in a day or a week. But with the help of Martin's book you will learn to love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun, 28 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
great fun to put together, it only took about an hour to put together and the instructions were easy to follow. Have only put one film through so far ( 400ASA black and white pushed to 1600ASA due to gloomy weather) but came out fine. Note Shutter speed and exposure are fixed, shutter speed approx 1/125 sec though i have seen it quoted as being anywhere between 1/100 to 1/150 and lens is approx f 11.

5.0 out of 5 stars A godsend, 25 Jan 2013

I am used to heavy cameras and can regularly get good shots with exposure times half the length of the lens but I have terrible trouble keeping my holga still when I push the shutter release so this is an absolute godsend

5.0 out of 5 stars Great black and white effects, 25 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
SFX 200 is a medium speed black and white film with extended red sensitivity, not infrared film but close to it. Have used 35mm version in the past, good grain size, good contrast and great infrared effect also quite forgiving exposure wise. Best used with a deep red filter but be prepared to sacrifice about 4 stops. For more info see spec sheet on Ilford web site. These films are destined for my Holga, infrared lomography, when the weather gets a bit better

5.0 out of 5 stars at last he cleans his teeth properly, 19 Nov 2011
My son is 8 and has had trouble using ordinary tooth brushes or other (adult) electric brushes. This one was recommended by our dentist as it is designed with children in mind and has been a great success, he now cleans his teeth without being reminded (most of the time) and his teeth and gums already look a lot better.
