Second Sean Black novel I have read and it's good to see the characters are filling out and becoming interesting. Liked the plot in this one and hope there is more to come

Conquest (Chronicles of the Invaders 1)
Price: £3.99

5.0 out of 5 stars good tale of alien invasion and human resistance, 5 Aug 2014

good tale of alien invasion and human resistance centred in Scotland. Interesting characters with enough evil to satisfy the most ardent Charlie Parker fan but in a form suitable for a younger generation. Cannot wait for the next book.

The Hedge Knight: The Graphic Novel (A Game of Thrones)
Price: £5.99

4.0 out of 5 stars good background to Game of Thrones, 22 April 2014

Bought this for my sons who were daunted by GM lengthy books as an introduction to Game of Thrones. Good read with convincing characters and a twisted plot. Typical GM tale with no one really coming out of it with a smile on their face. Liked the drawings, the story and the pace ... too short to get overly complicated. Did not like the interface found it did not always respond when you wanted to turn a page. Overall very pleased and good value

Running the Maze (Gunnery Sergeant Kyle Swanson Series)

5.0 out of 5 stars my favourite now, 25 Dec 2013

Swanson is now my favourite go to guy since Mitch sadly disappeared from our lives. Plots are good and the action fast and full of great bad guys who need some discipline. Hope these guys write a lot of Gunny Swanson books

Good plot which is expanding fast, characters fleshing out and twists and turns everywhere. A good read from an excellent author

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Harry Hole, 13 May 2013

Great story and good plot. This is my third Harry Hole and easily the best. Not too much drinking in this one which made the pace much better. Looking forward to my next story from Norway

3.0 out of 5 stars Flawed Harry Hole, 19 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A reasonable novel I think the first of the Harry Hole books. Plot is ok but everything is clouded and fragmented by the hero drink problem . It got so bad I really wanted to stop reading as it became boring. I know Nesbo has made drinking part of his flawed heros make up but it's not what I want to read about. Time for Harry to get a cure or retire.
