1.0 out of 5 stars disjointed., 23 Aug 2013

just a bundle of quotes and phrases. They read as if they were randomly taken out of a bin. Although the book has distinct sections within the each section are random pieces. Does not add to the knowledge or insight of a very influential man.

Perfect game for all ages. I really have no idea how we guessed some of the models but that was what made it so much fun.

1.0 out of 5 stars worst book I have ever read, 15 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
total boredom from start to finish, forced myself to carry on reading about a lazy clinically obese moron bum his way through life. even the author got bored and described several years of Charlie's life in single sentences. awful. you think a book that bad has got to have something in it worth the wait. it didn't happen.

3.0 out of 5 stars read the book!!!, 19 Feb 2009
Although a moving film describing the extra-ordinary achievement of Jean Dominique Bauby's to describe his feelings and coming to terms with life after a massive stroke which left him with 'locked in syndrome'. The only way of communication left to him was blinking his eyelid.
The book seems to bring out more of the authors feelings giving insights into his past life as well as how he is feeling now.
A truly remarkable man and just think about the time and patience to dictate a book one letter at a time only blinking one eye!!

Watch the film but then read the book its truly moving.
