She had the guts and determination to do the job she wanted to do. An excellent account of front line fighting in the air and the background to getting there.

3.0 out of 5 stars Heavy on detail, 22 July 2010
Urban achieves his goal. This book is for those who served in the 30 years of the Troubles and missed the political game playing that has left former terrorists in positions of power. The roles of the now ministers are exposed.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Eye Opener, 22 July 2010
As a former cold war beer and diesel warrior from BAOR in the 1970's I was unaware of the sheer intensity of the fight in Afghan. If you want to empathise with the young men who are fighting and surviving this conflict, this is the book for you. There will be a price to pay in PTSD in years to come for these brave men and women. An unmissable read.

One For All SV1715 Wireless Audio Video Sender for Controlling DVD / Set-Top Box from Another Room
One For All SV1715 Wireless Audio Video Sender for Controlling DVD / Set-Top Box from Another Room
Price: £44.80

3.0 out of 5 stars Limited use, 19 Jun. 2010
I wanted to install the sender box in the living room and receiver in the kitchen. This was not feasible as the device did not work. Instead I have it installed in the main bedroom and the receiver in an adjacent bedroom. This means the receiver is 'through the wall' from the sender, which is fitted to a second Virgin Media box. It works perfectly well and my wife watches the TV in that room as she does her make-up every day. It is important to remember to set the receiver to 'scart' or it will not work at all. Overall, I am happy with the product though it would have been even better had the range not been so limited.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read, 10 Feb. 2010
If you thought the French Foreign Legion was all criminals fleeing justice and broken hearted lovers, think again. Alex paints a good word picture of the life before, during and after his service. It covers a broad scope of 20th century conflict.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh how we let them down, 6 Jan. 2010
A terrific read. These guys are the stuff of history and legend. It also details how we let them down after the war. Politicians of the era should have hung their heads in shame.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Book in the Smallest Room, 6 Jan. 2010
This review is from: See John Run (Hardcover)
Okay, so I read it during trips to the bathroom. It is terrific. It is as you would expect and more. Cannot recommend it more highly for us TOG's now the Togmeister is gone. How with the Ginger Whinger match this? I wait, breath duly baited.

Jungle Soldier: The true story of Freddy Spencer Chapman
by Brian Moynahan
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars A Real Boy's Own Hero, 6 Jan. 2010
Freddy is the stuff of legend. I have not read his book 'The Jungle is Neutral'. This is a detailed record drawing on that and other sources. He is way ahead of TE Lawrence in his endurance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Henry V at his best, 6 Jan. 2010
This is a terrific read for lovers of history and warfare. The detail is king here. I didn't realise this campaign was the opposite of WW1 race to the sea. Those that do not learn from history.....
