If you haven't heard of him, Jeff Bland is one of the great medical pioneers of our time.

Our current medical model is failing to curb the chronic disease epidemic - just look around you; heart disease, type 2 diabetes, autoimmunity, chronic pain, fatigue, depression, dementia, and obesity are all wide-spread and increasingly burdensome problems.

All this could change fast if we take heed of Jeff's call for a new type of health care, which, rather than being caught up with the old model of naming an illness with a diagnosis and prescribing the corresponding synthetic drugs or surgery, actually addresses the reasons why people are sick and changes them.

This book is a synthesis of decades of Jeff's pioneering work, work that is now influencing medical education, doctors, and thought leaders all over the world. It offers a new and exciting vision for a better healthcare system, a vision that is starting to be realized.

On a more practical level, this book gives you the insight and guidance you need to unlock your health potential.

Buy it, and buy another copy for your doctor.

Alessio Fasano is responsible for some of the greatest scientific breakthroughs in our understanding of gluten-related illness, and not only is he arguably the worlds leading scientist in this area, he has personal experience as a clinician and has been raising awareness through social and political change.

There is still a lot of controversy around gluten but this book will bust myths while entertaining, enlightening and empowering you with the most reliable information you could hope for.

Essential reading for anyone who has gluten-related illness, has family and friends who do, or sees gluten sensitive patients in medical practice (or, as is more likely, is missing the diagnosis!).

5.0 out of 5 stars Revolutionary, 14 Mar. 2010
The inconvenient truth is that modern pharmacological medicine is failing to effectively address the epidemic of mental health problems such as depression (most drugs are no more effective than placebo)or dementia(no drugs delay progression or death).

On the other hand it is clear that your environment, diet and lifestyle are the most important determinants of your health. Treatment that focuses on addressing these underlying causes of disease have the power to prevent, dramatically improve and even reverse diseases considered incurable.

The days of a "pill for an ill" are numbered and in The UltraMind Solution Mark Hyman paves the way for the future of medicine, revolutionary.

Mindless Eating
Mindless Eating

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind opening!!!, 27 Aug. 2009
This review is from: Mindless Eating (Paperback)
This book is one of the most important books on food and health written this decade. Much more than a popular diet book, Dr Wansink details 20 years of published research, hidden away to most in the dietetics and nutrition field in marketing and psychology journals. What he and his team at Cornell University have found is mind blowing and will challenge your assumptions about what you eat, how much you eat and why you eat it. Most importantly however the book abounds with practical insights making the realisations in this book immediately relevant to improving your unconscious, mindless eating behaviour.
