Richard Feynman is one of the most wonderfully eclectic personalities of the 20th Century. A noble prize winning physicist, bongo player and artist this collection of memoirs recounts the myriad of crazy adventures and observations this man made during his most remarkable life. It was a pleasure to read, uplifting, funny and insightful, the man is an inspirational power house. If you've ever seen his lectures or heard him talk on documentaries then the words on the pages of this book will leap from the paper as you hear him speak them, his infectiously joyous personality bounds from page to page in a roaring adventure through his wonderful existence. It'll make you think for sure, it may make you cry, but most importantly of all it'll make you smile as you consider the world through the uniquely brilliant lens of this man's vast and quirky intellect.

I bought this to replace my now inadequate Trust tablet I bought a few years ago...It's so much better! The drawing area is quite small and probably wouldn't be appropriate if you were using this with a desktop PC with a massive monitor but I do my digital work on a laptop and the small size of the tablet matches the screen without a too wide of the mark ratio. It was easy to install and comes with several features like programmable buttons and a pop up 'wheel menu' that can be customised to your liking. The pen is comfortable and the pressure sensitivity is adjustable to your liking, as are the buttons. It comes with some replacement nibs, this is great, the only problem I find though is the nibs seem to be somewhat weak. What I mean is, with the Trust tablet I didn't have to change the nib like ever! I used it for probably 3 years and the nib never wore down. I've had to replace a nib on this already though after about 6 months of use. That's still pretty good usage, but y'know...it'd be nice if they were a little tougher. I currently use this on Windows 8 on a HP Pavilion laptop and create digital images in GiMP and Inkscape both of which support all features of this tablet/pen. Recommended as a good cheap tablet that performs perfectly well.

4.0 out of 5 stars +9000 XP in Manga art, 28 Mar. 2015

I bought both this and the first edition in order to gain valuable insights into how exactly to create decent looking manga characters. There's plenty of good tutorial, tips and examples in this book to get you started, beginners need not beware, it is easy to understand and starts off slow and simple, how to draw eyes, how to draw a basic head at various angles etc. Eventually it progresses quite naturally into more in-depth lessons, literally, as it teaches you the basics of perspective, foreshortening and creating 'space' in which to place your action. It will teach you how to give your creations more character, more depth to the environments you put them in, and how to add details like wet clothes, rain, and other tricks of the trade. It is by no means a fully comprehensive guide on everything you need to know, for instance it seems to be geared towards traditional pencil and paper art, if you are creating digitally you will need further instruction on how to do line art, colour, and add effects as this features nothing on such things at all. As a guide to the fundamental design and creation of characters and environments in this particular style though it has been of great help and I still refer to it regularly when embarking upon a new project.

5.0 out of 5 stars Official Figma...plus pantsu, 28 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent official Figma product. I was a little hesitant about ordering this at first as I'd heard there was a lot of knock-off's out there, this is clearly not a knock off, it is an excellent quality pose-able figure. It comes with various accessories like different hands, 3 different faces, angel wings and a guitar and they are all easy to switch out. The figure feels quite delicate and is clearly not a toy, it is for careful posing and decoration purposes. If this was bought for a child and used as a standard action figure it will get broke and the small parts, like the wrists, will get lost easily. Looked after though this is an excellent addition to any collection of anime related merchandise. There are many points of articulation and she can be put into virtually any pose a human might put themselves in. Cute and sexy, she is a lovely figure, you can even see her pantsu....always a bonus, would definitely recommend!

Bought these to help with super sculpey sculpting, they work great, each tool comes with two heads of differing properties making for a total of 24 tools really, comes with a handy pouch to keep them all in, feel sturdy and good to go, used them to help with cleaning an awkward wooden box remote control holder too, many uses for such things...must have for anyone with a need to poke about in tight corners!

You wouldn't be here already if you weren't a fan of this musical magician's to begin with, so there's no need to tell you how AWESOME he is. The real deal you're here to hear is the product details...

So...shall we?.......As with many box sets, it comes in a cardboard box! The innards fold out and house the discs in the standard clear plastic disc tray things with images from the show and other artwork underneath it all. It's a fairly standard layout and it feels sturdy and well made. There are 5 discs in total, the show fits it's High definition gonads onto the Blu-Ray in one go, the DVD's are split between the two halves of the show and of course the two CD's are also split in the same way. My second DVD skips on the last song, which is a shame, but I have the Blu-Ray still, and a Blu-Ray player, so it doesn't really matter as I'll never use the DVD's again anyway and is most likely not a standard feature of all copies!

There is also a booklet included with photo's from the show (That I'm insanely gutted I missed in person) and lyrics for all the featured songs, an unusual but welcome addition for a Live Blu-Ray especially as I was unfamiliar with at least the SYL songs...which were FANTASTIC by the way.

The show itself comes in at about two and a half hours featuring songs from all of Devin's career including two strapping young lad songs and extending all the way up to his most recent release 'Epicloud' from which several songs appear.

With an artist as prolific as Devin there's bound to be some songs you wished were on here that aren't as there simply wouldn't be time to include every great one. My own personal sense of loss was in realising there was no rendition of 'Bad Devil' or 'Hide Nowhere', there was also an unfortunate absence of any music from 'Terria' or 'Accelerated Evolution'. Nonetheless there is PLENTY of fantastic tune-age to get your rocks off to here.

Epically loud, infinitely great, synchestrally addicted...I could go on...oh yeah, did I mention plenty of Ziltoid? No I didn't, that's why I mentioned it just then, he's here in spades, with a little surprise for the fans too...

There is also a featurette on the making of the show, it's about a half hour long and a great look into the production with interviews from the 'choir' members and the band themselves.

All in all it's a fantastic show and a great little box set. I got it for about thirty quid which was well worth the money. Even though the five discs all contain the same material it's handy having a Blu-Ray and the CD's as I can import the CD to iTunes for getting my retina's circussed on the go. At least I could if my laptop disc tray worked, but it doesn't...not that you wanna know about that, you wanna know if you should buy this and you know what? YOU SO SHOULD!

If you're reading this review because you've never read Hitchikers and you wanna know if it's worth it i'll make this easy, buy it! Even if you're not normally into Sci-Fi buy it anyway, if you can't read, buy it and have someone read it to you, if you're not a fan of silly outlandish idea's and plot's, still buy it, buy it anyway, no matter what, someday this and a towel will be all you need.

a word on the actual product, it's all five books in the trilogy neatly packed in a futuristic material called cardboard, the only way it could be better is if it were wrapped in Cheryl Tweedy, but that may be a while off, for now, this is a great set and well worth the buy!
