This was always going to be, for me at least, one of the most interesting reviews I've written simply because of my mixed opinions about the hoover.
Generally, you either like or dislike a product and rate it accordingly. However in my opinion the question of whether you'll like this will depend entirely on whether or not you already own a hoover.
I already have a hoover (a Dyson Animal) but I was so tempted by 'cordless hoovering' and all the rave reviews this was getting I simply had to have it. The price on Amazon was great and it was delivered exactly on time.
The hoover took seconds to fit together and 4 hours later was fully charged. My first impression was 'wow this is amazing!'. It's quiet (for a hoover) and so powerful it can actually pull itself along on my wooden floors! As many reviewers have said, it pulled up so much dust it put my £300 Dyson Animal to shame! And the joys of cordless hoovering cannot be overstated :)
It's ability to lay completely flat means I can even hoover under all the beds.
However I've had the hoover for a few months now and in that time have noticed it's weaknesses.
- It simply cannot cope with the edges of rugs or the joins between floors e.g. carpet to wood, and so misses the dust in these areas.
- The dust bales do not simply lift out but fall apart and emptying the hoover can be a real mess. Plus I've noticed when emptying it that whilst the dust gathers in bales the heavier stuff stays in the bottom. TIP: Once the dust bales have been removed tip the hoover back to bring all the heavy bits to the back then tip forward to drop them in the bin.
- But it's main Achilles heel is the lack of any sort of detachable hose. I appreciate that given the design it can probably never have a detachable hose but this is where most people will ultimately have a problem, as you simply can't hoover every part of your house e.g. behind the TV, stairs etc.
Which leads me back to my opening remark, if you already own a hoover (with hose/attachments) you'll love this unreservedly. If you don't you'll still need to get another hoover for all those hard to reach places and struggle to justify spending that £200.
If you already own a hoover: 10/10
If you don't: 7/10
