3.0 out of 5 stars Good advice, spread a bit thin, 21 July 2013
A very ambitious book. The advice it contains is useful. It covers a wide range of Social Media, and for me personally that was a slight weakness.
You find yourself reading some great tips about Facebook and then it jumps onto Pinterest and Instagram etc. Because the book tries to introduce and cover what are essentially at heart very similar platforms it gets a bit repetitive.
It could also have benefited from a good proofreader, at least one tip is repeated word for word in one section.
I don't want this to sound unfairly harsh, it is a good book. The author definitely knows his stuff. It is written in a clear, approachable way. I used some of the advice from this book and got some great results.
If you are unsure where to focus your Social Media activity and are after an introduction and some useful advice on a wide variety of platforms then this could be the book for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the product shown... But okay, 24 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The fleece that arrived was not the one shown in the picture. I actually ordered it because it looked identical to a North Face fleece that I was thinking of buying, but at a fraction of the price and without the logo. Thinking I had stumbled upon the people who make North Face fleeces but who sell them 'unbadged' I thought I would take a punt and ordered one. When it arrived it was nothing like the one in the picture. It was still 'as described' and a good, warm, thick, fleece so I decided to keep it anyway. However the sizing is unusual. I am an XL or sometimes XXL, but I had to return the first fleece delivered and exchange down to a Large. If you are ordering one it may be worth going a size smaller than usual. The fleece is well made and good value for money, but they should change that misleading picture.

5 Pairs of Screw in Silicone Nose Pads, L=15mm (D-shaped)
5 Pairs of Screw in Silicone Nose Pads, L=15mm (D-shaped)

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly as expected, 24 Mar. 2013
Product arrived quickly. Within 4 days, not the possible 4 weeks that the order confirmation page said it could take! Product arrived in a re-sealable plastic bag in a white paper envelope, not the usual sturdy packaging I am used too from Amazon. But the product was not 'breakable' so that was not a problem. The nose pads themselves were exactly as described and very easy to fit, just make sure you have a tiny screwdriver. They are soft and flexible, which makes them very comfortable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother, 24 Feb. 2012
Simplicity. Great. Something we should strive for. Most of us already know this. I was hoping the book would give some insights into how to achieve it. It doesn't. Looks nice, but there comes a point when acres of white space stops being beautiful and you realise there is hardly any content. Don't bother.

OtterBox Impact Series Case (Black) for iPhone 4/4S
OtterBox Impact Series Case (Black) for iPhone 4/4S

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 24 Feb. 2012
The case fits iPhone 4 perfectly. Bit of a struggle to get it on, but when it is on, it is a nice, snug fit (there is a tiny amount (1mm) of 'gaping' just under the speaker at the top/front, but hardly worth mentioning). The thick (1.8mm) rubbery material protects the phone well. It looks great when it is on. All controls work fine through the case. The charging port is still accessible. Because it is made of rubbery material it does pick up a bit of 'fluff' from your pockets, but this is a very, very minor quibble. The screen protector is very good (crystal clear) and I found it very easy to put on. Only had it a few weeks so far so can't say how durable it is yet, but it 'feels' like it should last. Very happy with it.

Integral Myriad USB 2.0 Multi Card Reader
Integral Myriad USB 2.0 Multi Card Reader

4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine, good value, 8 Oct. 2011
Not the most robust product in the world, but it works fine. For the price it is hard to fault it. There are lots of card readers out there that feel less substantial and much weaker. Very pleased with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for 'business', poor for 'design', 14 Aug. 2011
This book contains good, clear advice on the financial side of sensible advertising. The book concentrates, quite rightly, on 'direct response' advertising and the importance of knowing how much an ad is costing you and how much money it is bringing in to your business. The author breaks down the numbers very clearly, better than any other book on advertising that I have read. However, the title of the book promises that we will know how to "Write and design great ads", this is where it falls a bit short. The book is trying to do too much. To be fair, it does contain good advice on "writing ads" but all of it has been said before by other authors. Where I felt let down the most is in the section about "design", this is lightweight, vague and there are no examples at all. The book was worth buying in my opinion for the breakdown of the 'financial side' but the title of the book does seem to promise something else.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, 9 May 2011
Combines most of the best points from the leading advertising books out there and manages to add some new stuff too. Very clear and easy to read with very little jargon. The author's style makes it an enjoyable as well as practical read. I highly recommend this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, 11 Oct. 2010
Everything in this book makes sense. After reading it you will wonder why so many websites are confusing and hard to use. It encourages you to take a step back and actually think like the visitor to the site, with lots of practical real-world examples to illustrate the key points. I highly recommend this book.

Western Digital My Book Studio Edition 1TB Firewire 400 / 800 & eSata External Hard Drive
Western Digital My Book Studio Edition 1TB Firewire 400 / 800 & eSata External Hard Drive

4.0 out of 5 stars Set it and forget it (Time Machine - Mac), 18 Mar. 2010
I have this hard drive set up as the Time Machine back-up for my Mac. It turns itself on and off with the Mac, so you can just set it and forget it. Along with Time Machine it just does its thing, backing up your work. Works brilliantly, looks great. Makes a very slight humming noise which you don't notice after a while. Good product. Works with Firewire and USB.
