5.0 out of 5 stars If I could give it more than five stars, ..., 15 May 2015

If I could give it more than five stars, I would. A fascinating and revealing look at the so called Golden Age which also de-bunks many of the misconceptions that still hold sway in the minds of the reading public. Thank you, Martin.

1.0 out of 5 stars Far too small, 23 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought the blue jumpsuit, which fitted well. However the red, which came from a different supplier, was at least three sizes too small. And to add insult to injury, I had to pay return postage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nicely hidden, David, 13 April 2015

I don't know how Joe gets away with it! Another murder solved away from home - and so obvious when you realise the twist. It even fooled me, and I'm a theatrical. Nicely hidden, David.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely Five Stars, 6 Feb. 2015
This review is from: The Naked Doctor (Kindle Edition)
I had the pleasure of knowing this book was on its way in advance, and it certainly didn't disappoint. As many others have said, I can't wait for the next instalment, which may, perhaps, take us up to the Rosa Charles company where she met the late Dame Hilda. I do believe that dear Doctor Hinge has a couple of my own books (I believe she won them in a raffle), so naturally, I feel a certain bond.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh, yes, it is!, 7 Jan. 2015
What a pity that Severn House haven't yet caught up with the rest of the publishing world's pricing strategy. If they did, far more readers would discover the joy of Charles Paris. As it is, only dedicated Simon Brett fans are likely to fork out for these new books in the series. In this one, the world of pantomime is affectionately and accurately portrayed, forming the backdrop to the murders. I enjoyed every word.

Linda Gillard is incapable of writing a bad book. An atmospheric, magical story with a satisfying ending - and a brilliant title! Cauldstane is another book I wish I'd written...

5.0 out of 5 stars Romantic Suspense is back!, 23 Jun. 2014

Jan Jones is a brilliant writer who should be better known than she is. Her debut novel, Stage by Stage, is still one of my favourite books, which I hope will be released eventually as an ebook. This book, Fairlights, as people have said before, is in the tradition of Mary Stewart and has everything - atmosphere, mystery and romance. A brilliant read, and highly recommended.
