2.0 out of 5 stars Not as inspiring as I originally thought, 13 Jan. 2011
Ok I enjoyed reading this book in parts but once I had finished it and returned it to the library I thought, hang on. This book doesn't show what you can do if you are determined and commited and in love. It shows what you can do if you have a massive amount of disposable income!!

From the very moment the story begins, its continuation is facilitated by the availability of lots of cash. How many of us could afford to buy a full set of alpine climbing gear (£1000 minimum) and hire a guide every day (£200 per day in chamonix)to impress some girl we had only just met?

Antartica 30-40k per person TWICE (Pole and Mountain) Everest 40-70k per person, North pole 20-25k per person, denali 4-5k ppn, Elbrus 4-5k, Aconcagua 3-4k, Kili 1.5 -2.5k the list goes on and thats just the price of the expeditions. it doesnt include the months of training in the alps they did, hotels, flights, equipment and insurance.

All this book proves is that with time and money you can achieve anything you want. If you are a climber you will find it annoying and more than a bit sappy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enter the circle pit!, 27 July 2009

I dare anyone listening to this in their car not to put their right foot down when the title track gets going!

This is without doubt a great modern metal album. I'm not sure its really any more varied than the previous 3 though - and those more melodic guitar licks have all but disappeared. Its awesomely heavy though and the drum tracks are phenomenal.

I dont think I want variety from Devildriver - Just more of this!

5.0 out of 5 stars pure no frills metal, 7 Dec. 2007
I am bothering to write this mostly because the second guy above gave the album such a bad and in my opinion unfair review. The first review is more accurate.

Maybe this album does not represent anything new or original but what it does represent is a balls out metal album.

If you love heavy metal music you will love this.

= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Heavenly Sword (PS3) (Video Game)
I have been playing this game almost non stop since my pre-ordered copy arrived.
Its awesome! Like a cross between god of war and onimusha. It matches furious gameplay with beautiful cinematic sequences. The characters are engaging and stunningly rendered and effectively draw you into the plot. Combat seems a little limited at first but as you get the hang of switching styles, combos, counter attacks and superstyle attacks you will be able to turn Nariko into a gracefull killing machine.

choosing a female character was an inspired choice because the grace and beauty of Nariko's combat moves just make their brutality more apparent!!

Sony have their new Heroine. and just as Lara Croft lead the charge of the first playstation, I have the feeling Nariko will do the job nicely. Awesome game, Awesome console.
