4.0 out of 5 stars An Early 90's CLASSIC FUNKY HOUSE MIX, 22 July 2016
An amazing introduction the the first half of the 90's. Funky, popping and uplifting house that brings the flavour of happiness and a time that was a golden era in house music. This was the start of many magical creations and was beautifully crafted with chosen tracks echoing from sounds of the previous UK rave era, lots of colour, funk and vocal samples which lifts you up. Back then house was a feeling of joy and pleasing, of course things develop and change but there was something innocent and raw about that music from around 1990 to 1994. A true classic for all of those die hard House music lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars PROBABLY THE BEST HOUSE COLLECTION I OWN, 15 July 2016
PROBABLY THE BEST HOUSE COLLECTION I OWN I know that's a tall order considering I have 1000's of house cd's but, this has it all. Beautiful dark techno, weird ambience, thrusting house and a mood that captures you immediately. If you love house just get it, if you are curious about house just get it. Either way you won't be disappointed. I cannot praise this highly enough it is pure underground ecstasy X3. We are talking the very best dark techno, tribal house, ambient bouncy house, latin sounds and it all works so beautifully trust me it's genius mixing and track choices.

5.0 out of 5 stars ALL TIME FAV FROM QUANTIC!, 14 July 2016

This review is from: Stampede (Audio CD)
My all time fav from Quantic. why? Easy, he is a great producer and music maker and creates beautiful sounds, but this houses all of the elements expressed perfectly as a complete album. No duds on here. Just a fine percussion rich varied tempo based belter. If you have heard Quantic stuff before you will probably be familiar with his unique sound and blend of solid beats, percussion and warm melodies and this exemplifies his sound produced to perfection. other I like by him are 'Mishaps Happening' and 'An announcement to answer'. But he never really let's you down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Complicated Percussion Album, 14 July 2016
This review is from: Mishaps Happening (Audio CD)
A great album by Will Holland. I have 3 of his albums so far and this is probably my 2nd fav one. Nice latin beats and up tempo flavours, a splash of hiphop and some chilled beat based percussion numbers. It's vibrant and energetic and full of in the face colour which is original sounding. My fav of the albums I have is 'Stampede'. I feel that is a complete and accomplished album which just sounds fresh from start to finish. So, by all means grab this and that one as you can't gor wrong. The complicated rhythms and beats will have you creating dance moves you may never have attempted before. Plus some latin style cocktails may go down well with this. Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars SUBLIME, SEXY, SOPHISTICATED STYLE, 16 Jun. 2016
SUBLIME, SEXY, SOPHISTICATED STYLE I just bought this for 3 quid in CEX so I suggest you do the same and don't pay 75 quid JEEEEES. But, it is damn fine and with artists such as Tosca, United Future Organisation, Thievery Corp, Air, Jazzanova, and many more this is true lounge with class. A beautiful collection of some of the finest joints chilled to perfection but funktified to the maximum. If you want to impress friends at your lil party then grab this they will be impressed. I will be taking this to Spain with me tomorrow as it blends so well with the sun. 10/10

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST OF S MCS, 15 Jun. 2016
This review is from: Connected (Audio CD)
THE BEST OF S MCS Around this time there were some truly groundbreaking albums out there. Artists such as The Young Disciples, Galliano, The Brand New Heavies, Massive Attack, D*Note and others were laying the foundations for trip hop, uk soul and underground funk. With the Acid Jazz movement as a part of this things really were original sounding. This album is one of the best from that era. Featuring the best work of Stereo MC's and firmly placing it front and centre of the early nineties movement. I remember raving back then but after a party, I would enjoy strong weed with this album on in a mates flat in Bristol. A worthy album for the collection. And if you digg this get anything by Galliano.

5.0 out of 5 stars CLASSIC OLDSKOOL UK AMBIENCE, 13 Jun. 2016
This review is from: Old Codes New Chaos (Audio CD)
CLASSIC OLDSKOOL UK AMBIENCE at it's finest. The distinctive FB sound has morphed and developed into a variety of styles, such funk, ambience, breakbeat and daft troncia. For me, this old classic shows where they came from in the early 90's when the UK movement in dance music was strong and the identity was firmly positioned as the best in the world. With acts like The Orb, Future Sound Of London, Leftfield, Underworld, Chemical Brothers, and many more this has that timeless beauty of that emerging era. Starting with an ambient 'Ibiza' sounding delight which drives nicely towards a progressive drum the album has a more housey tempo than later works. The album moves forward in this great collection highlighting the magic and colour that only FB know how to create and produce. An essential FB collection.

FINE TWISTED BREAKS N CHILL TECH ACID Not too complicated then! :)) As it kicks in it's rough and hard with samples of RUNDMC and oldskool rockin beats tearing up and slamming down with surreal other worldy soundscapes from the galaxy. As it progresses it simmers a little get's ambient and lush then takes you back up with more slammin acid breaks. Its a roller coaster of dark fun. You can see where The chemical brothers may have been influenced as it does remind me of their stuff. Well worth buying if you are a bit of an underground nutter. Who knows where it might take you?

4.0 out of 5 stars MORE ORGANIC AND CLEAN, 9 Jun. 2016
This review is from: Orbvs Terrarvm (Audio CD)
MORE ORGANIC AND CLEAN This is earthy and Psychedelic, easy on the ear and less spacey science fiction soundtrack. I still like it as I do The Orb generally and if you want a gentle soundtrack that allows you to skip through fields whilst blowing the fluff off those little flowery things then get it. I would say that with a member leaving having started this project and with the introduction of a new member coming in at that time things here changed route a little. I still enjoy it as it is trippy enough for me to enjoy in various situations, but for those die hard Orb fans who are used to a more edgy sound you may find it a little tame. Either way I have enjoyed it throughout this summer. Super chilled!

5.0 out of 5 stars My 1st Caribou Purchase! Im in!, 7 Jun. 2016
This review is from: Swim (Audio CD)
My 1st Caribou Purchase! Im in! Immediately hit me with a fresh, quirky energetic playful vibe which was also ambient. So, original sounding yet with some touches of royksopp and radiohead perhaps? Then you have samples of oldskool sounds reminding me of bouncy old house, in places more erratic and in other more euphoric but all brilliantly conceived. A gentle yet confident production well worth a purchase.
