3.0 out of 5 stars Great Price, 30 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Feedback is more to do with the delivery than the product (it hasn't arrived yet) as a busy photographer I often need reference books for little jobs I pick up along the way. I ordered this under the assumption it would be delivered from the UK, I cannot afford to wait for USA deliveries. So after 3 days I was told that this book was out of stock in the UK and would be ordered from the US - this was depite their website showing (and still shows) as instock and delivered from the UK. A real pain as I had to order it again so whenever this book finally turns up it will be for sale.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super for my allergic doggy, 30 Aug. 2013

This was the only product to stop my poor JRT itching -everything else including baby shampoo caused her to be terribly uncomfortable - from the moment it's applied to the final rinse and beyond she is a a much happier doggy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, 30 Aug. 2013

I purchased this item to replace my faithful Arca Swiss head - blimey I miss it. However I have to say for landscape images this not so little head is a real treat. The gearing is accurate and the 3 axis allows for massive movements or smaller micro adjustments - a real treat for getting in right in camera and not having to follow up with hefty cropping in post processing. Pricing is just right as well - but be warned this is not a light head - on my Carbon Fibre tripod it is a heavy old lump to carry for long distances - however the payback is stability especially in windy conditions.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK quality, 30 Aug. 2013

Do not put in the dishwasher - you have been warned, they come out bowed and warped. My previous set were originally from Germany and are over 30 years old - made in the days of 5* quality this product is a typical of today's mass produced rubbish - the brand name I have never heard of and may well be a marketing gimmic, save your money and use a plate.

Aluminium Credit Card Holder (Black)

3.0 out of 5 stars Poor Qulity overall, 30 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I only gave this item 3 stars, the outer skin is reasonably strong but the plastic latch and the flimsy plastic credit card holder is made of chocolate. The latch broke 5 minutes after receiving it and the card holders which are a series of plastic folds decided it was not going to remain in shape for more than 10 minutes - I didn't bother complaining as at this price why bother, I should have bought half a dozen as at this price I should have realized quality was never going to be great - overall you get what you pay for although.

Speedliter's Handbook: Learning to Craft Light with Canon Speedlites
by Syl Arena
Edition: Paperback
Price: £33.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read - go buy this book., 10 April 2013

For anybody remotely interested in speedlighting this is the book for you - the author has covered every single option from single to multiple speedlights, the theory is easy on the brain and Syl even has a section on batteries - packed full of real examples this is the one book that will take you from casual amateur to somebody who can shoot hi quality magazinge ready images - be warned though this book although serious value for money will start you down the road of wanting to buy more & more speedlighting gear. If Syl had a buck for every £ I've spent since reading this book on my reference bookshelf he'd be a seriously rich dude...go buy you won't regret it.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK but not the best image quality, 10 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased this item as I sometimes have the desire to photograph architecture and I thought it would help with wide low angle shots and would also prevent me having to be a contortionist for some of those more acute angles. Overall the external build quality is solid, the metal casing adds to a sense of weight and first impressions are good. However I found the optics lacking somewhat, the barreling and pin cushion effect were quite acute especially on the 2x zoom setting - it reminded me of looking through that old fashioned glass you see in films about Victorian Britain or earlier - whether this is down to a faulty lens or simply because the price won't allow a more expensive lens to be added I don't know, however overall it's cheap and for something that will only come out of the bag once or twice a year then perhaps it's a case of wysiwyg...for the more serious photographer I would go with the Canon Angle finder C - lots more cash to part with but at least you can guarantee top notch optics...

George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography
George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography

4.0 out of 5 stars An opinon on Webster Tarplays George Bush Snr expose, 23 July 2009
I would say that for historians this book is an invaluable source of some very detailed data, constantly referencing itself as you progress through the book gives the opinion that Webster is keen to ensure that the Lawyers are kept far enough from the door to give him enough breathing space to make his points - this is where the book allows in a fundamental weakness in Tarpleys style of writing. Wading through line after line after line of who is a member of what corporation and who references back to who and in what capacity is at best tedious and at worst like reading the complete works of Mao Tse Tung in its original language. I would suggest that complex relationships are best demonstrated with diagrams and not left to the reader to 'join the dots' - he makes several good points about how interconnected Bush seniors cronies are and then uses page after page after page to demonstrate this, by page 100 I got the point, by page 200 I was losing the will to read on. Webster if you are reading this review, please find a way to reduce the number of paragraphs you use to make what are some very good points, your topic to an historian is critical but unless you can find a way to carry the reader you'll lose most, whilst I appreciate this is not a Jackie Collins novel never the less you run the risk of losing a very loyal band of supporters. However - it's not all bad, this book overall is an incredible read, George Tarpley borders on genius and I think all serious recorders of history and political events should study his words carefully, as long winded as they are you can't hide the truth..keep joining the dots....and keep following the money.
