Cherub WST-640G Clip On Auto-On Guitar Tuner
Cherub WST-640G Clip On Auto-On Guitar Tuner

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it!, 18 Feb. 2015

Excellent piece of kit. Simple and effective. Couldn't be easier to use. Not sure what another reviewer's issue is with different tunings. The tuner shows what note the string is tuned to. For example, if you need to tune to drop D, then you simply detune the 6th string until the tuner shows it is D. Can't see the problem. I've bought several of these and keep one permananently on the headstock of each guitar. For just over six quid each, its almost a giveaway

1.0 out of 5 stars A rip-off, 10 May 2014

Disappointing. Nothing like the amazon product description. Finishes suddenly with a "to be continued" with no point of suspense which might make you look forward to the next part. I feel as if I have been ripped-off.

These warmers should be called "Little Warmies" rather than "Little Hotties" as they never get more than luke warm. Having said that, they do last a long time and at least provide some warmth to cold fingers. Next time I buy some hand warmers I will try a different brand.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor follow up, 7 Aug. 2013

Really enjoyed the Axis of Time books - sadly this is a very poor and lazy follow up. At best it is a short story and does not have the breadth and depth of the previous novels. Surely Mr Birmingham can do better than this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Was it the Bovril?, 9 Dec. 2012
I can't work out from this book whether Mr Mowbray's biggest passion is for football or Bovril. Anyway, I suspect all that Bovril has had an effect on his sanity. Surely you have to be a bit mad to spend many freezing cold hours standing watching loads of relatively unimportant football games.

However, I'm glad he did, whatever his motivation, because the result, apart from a Bovril addiction, is this very entertaining book, which I can heartily reccommend to anyone who is interested in football or Yorkshire or indeed what makes people do strange things like want to visit lots of run-down football grounds in as short a time as possible.

Well done Mr Mowbray, even if you are a bit barmy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy, 31 Oct. 2012
Bought two of these for new bathroom and toilet basins. One jammed solid the first time it was closed rendering the basin unusable and was only able to be freed by disconnecting the waste plumbing and freeing it from underneath. It then jammed solid the second time it was closed. I have now replaced it with a different type of waste (NOT a flip plug).

The second one is quite stiff and I suspect will jam soon. I am intending to replace it before it does. Both will end up in the bin - a complete waste (no pun intended) of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars The funniest book......, 30 Aug. 2010
....I've ever read. Typical Guy Bellamy characters in typical Guy Bellamy settings (usually a pub or a bar). Witty, inventive and laugh-out-loud funny. If this book doesn't make you laugh then you need a sense of humour transplant.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dreadful CD player, 2 Feb. 2010
Ironically, I bought this some time ago to replace an old Sony system that had developed problems with the CD player only to find that the CD player on this unit was even worse! Out of the box it never played a single CD without jumping around. Many attempts at downloading the latest updates from the Pure website failed miserably using both Windows XP and Vista, despite various email conversations with Pure, who were not very helpful. I gave up on it recently and bought a Panasonic unit to replace it. A great pity as the DAB and sound are very good, but I'm afraid that I will never consider buying a Pure product again.

The Lost Joy of Railways: A Nostalgic Journey Back to the Golden Age of Trainspotting

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, 2 Feb. 2010
I'm not ashamed of being an anorak. As a teenager I spent most of my spare time on stations watching steam engines. Doncaster was my favourite. Seeing an A4 emerge from under the road bridge south of the station to the cry of "streak" and watching it thunder through the station at the head of an express train was an experience never to be forgotten. This superb book brought it all back - the smell of steam and hot oil, the noise, the dirt, the raw power of a big steam engine. If you were a train-spotter in the fifties and sixties, with your grubby Ian Allan ABC and obligatory duffel bag, you will love this book. Thank you, Mr Holland, for bringing back some happy memories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent protection for iPhone 3GS, 2 Feb. 2010
Bought this after reading lots of reviews of many iPhone cases/protectors. Easily deserves five stars. Adds little weight or bulk to the iPhone but gives solid protection. And my iPhone still fits in my adjustable Brodit car holder without removing the case.
