Harry is a frequent visitor to the pub, with his life around him shattered he tends to sulk in the darkest corners nursing one beer after another. The tempreture is dropping outside and its snowing all over the world. Yes, I can hear the words "That time has come and gone my friend.." echoing. However, for Harry its just the start. Inside this cosy run down pub are the usual suspects nursing there own agendas behind there beer.
However, things take a turn for the worse, the snow is getting deeper and the temp keeps dropping....Then it gets very interesting. The author throws in a likable rogue character, Lucas Fergus. (I guessed who it was from the name....no spoiler alerts sorry!)Then its all about survival, not only from the wintery cold outside, or the hooded figures that are waiting outside, but from themselves as they battle to survive.
Harry must overcome his darkest fears as he tries to keep himself and others alive. I loved this book, hated it when it came to the end!!
Four stars ;) would recommend this book ;)
Including at the back of the book is a small tale "The Peeling of Samuel Lloyd Collins "......hint, dont read this if you dont like a bit of true horror, its gory! Loved it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Zombie FallOut 4, 3 Oct 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is the fourth book in the ZF books, concerning the Talbot Family as they try to survive what life is throwing at them. Zombie Hordies controlled by a Vamp (not the nice sort) Eliza. It continues where book 3 left off, not missing a heart beat so to speak. Its red neck dark in places and rather horrid in others, but it balances out with the banter and tribulations of the Talbot family and friends. Once again they find them selves chased by Elizas Zombie Hordies, but this time they have a mission. My only gripe is the story line, book one was and is fresh, but this one appears to be mirroring it in some parts, a bit like dejavu, or here we go again. On a more up beat note, the Talbots keep the pages flowing. Would recommend peeps read book 1-4 as it is more about family survival and would help the reader to appreciate what the Talbots have to deal with. Overall, I enjoyed the book as the Talbots kept me amused including the windy bulldog and BJ. Hope there will be a 5th ;)

excellent survival tale of jack and his family. lights in the sky turn the majority of americans into killers. towns and cities begin to burn as the killers become organised and start hunting others. jack and his family have to deal with being hunted and face trials and tribulations along the way trying to escape. its fast and punchy with good banter between the family unit as they move from one place to another. crisp and sharp writing brings the characters to life well worth the read.

The Screaming
The Screaming

2.0 out of 5 stars Short Novella, 5 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Screaming (Kindle Edition)
The Screaming is a short Horror Story. It also contains excerts from Trapped and Endurance at the end, so its not all that bad ;)
The book evolves around two drug takers who are out of there luck and trying to score there next hit in the 1960s. Meet Colin and Butts. There bright idea involves robbing a rather scary house. All goes to plan except for the screaming underneath the floorboards......introducing Peter Cushing....yes, its about vampires! Gotta love the vernacular of his speeches....loved it, would read more ;) Only two stars as the ending once again was rather predictable.

Dead Beat
Dead Beat

3.0 out of 5 stars Dead Beat, 4 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Dead Beat (Kindle Edition)
Dead Beat is a zombie book with a difference. Not only does it see the lead character Pc Johnny Silverman battle through a recent outbreak of Zombies in his small village, he has also to contend with the Farmers, who like most people faced with zombies, go..well a little nuts. It has gory bits to suit any zombie lover, but some phrases are rather odd...for example "attacking like a flock of demented flamingos????" Never seen demented flamingos in my life, or a zombie come to think about it ;)
Most books Zombie books are based in USA but this one is in a remote English Village. The first few chapters set the flavour of the zombie book but then it weaves in and out of what the Nasty Farmer gets up to....nothing nice I can assure you. If you like horror and Zombies this book is for you..however,only rated it three stars as I found it rather, to be honest, boring in parts. (No pun intended). The books ends well with a small twist towards the end, but I think most readers will see it coming before they are half way through.
Nothing new to shout home about in this book, but it reads well enough, so im not complaining ;)

Rogue Trooper #1: Crucible
Rogue Trooper #1: Crucible
Price: £2.57

4.0 out of 5 stars Rogue Trooper, 30 Jun 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Rogue Trooper is a rather blue GI with specific genetic traits that allow him to survive in the most unhospitable places, like war zones full of radiation and pollution off the charts. Here, Rogue trooper is tracking down the Traitor General, the guy who killed off his entire platoon. Except for his Helm, Gun and back pack, (They hold bio chips of his lost team, yet they survive on a chip, characters anyhow) He goes about tracking down the Traitor General across the planet. Throw into the mix that the planet has been at war for decades, and each side is bombing and killing each other off in the thousands, and you have a rather gooood read !!! Bring on more please!

4.0 out of 5 stars Rather good ;), 30 Jun 2011

You guessed it, this book is about Zombies, living it up in Birmingham. The usual rules apply, a virus is released or germ....causing the entire population of Birmingham to die....well, almost. The army have sealed off the area and sent in a crack team to find one rather important person. The people and zombies want out and the army want to keep them in. Add to this mixture a group of criminals wanting to get into Birmingham, and it all boils down to the knitty gritty of blood guts and a chorus of moans. Did the criminals take on to much to chew? Its worth the read, and rather refreshing in parts!
Worth four stars ;) If you like zombies/horror and a few twists in the story, this book is calling out to be read ;) Rather good ;)

After being a long time fan of Judge Dredd, I was so happy he was on the Kindal. However having read case files from 1 to 6 I was so looking forward to reading no 7 Swine Fever.....what a disappointment and total waste of time. There are some rather good lines in here, but nothing to smirk about as Judge Dredd has to shut down the Porkie Factories with a PSI Necro Judge. Only one star ;( would not recommend the read, the writer made a bit of a pigs ear of the story;)

Benjamin's Parasite
Benjamin's Parasite

3.0 out of 5 stars Parasite.....and henchmen ;), 31 Mar 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Benjamin has a parasite in his abdomen....He needs it out before it eats him alive inside out...However other scientists want this Parasite. Hence the chase starts...will Ben be eaten alive by the parasite or shot or chopped up for liver? The henchmen are funny and Ben manages to sound pretty convincing! Its full of comedy horror bits and throw in a family of rednecks a few grenades and you have got a very good read! Oh, forgot to throw in a few odd ball scientists and a rather angry cow ;) Comical read with enough blood and guts to even it out!

The characters kept me smiling throughout! Would recommend this to anyone with a good sense of humour! Its worth the price and worth the read :)
