5.0 out of 5 stars Only if you havn't got the original record!!!, 27 Oct 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A new and insiduous system brought about by greedy record companies to sell the same record twice. It is not only Micheal Buble but many other big recording stars who bring out their original release with a few other tracks added so fans have to buy it all again at the same price. My five stars are only included because if you havn't got the original album it really is a five star product, otherwise you get four live recordings which includes only one new song and that is an ordinary version of "Twist and shout",a couple of so-so ballads and ,of course,"Hollywood". Micheal......don't let them do this!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars POP WITH A STRING TWIST!, 30 Sep 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: No Boundaries (Audio CD)
I was first introduced to Alexander Rybak at the 2009 Eurovision contest when he played "Fairytale" accompanying himself on the violin.I ordered the album containing this hit single and was pleasantly surprised at the diversity and creativeness of the album and therefore ordered this one "Bounderies" and once again was delighted with Mr Rybak's enjoyment of performance. Pure "pop" all new and very catchy. You smile when you hear his albums.BARNDANCE makes you want to dance, and all the new songs make you want to sing along, and he throws in a great version of DISNEY GIRLS. I feel there is a lot more to come from this young man and his live performances are outstanding. Bounderies is an album you won't regret buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars GOOD VALUE PEGGY LEE., 9 Jun 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This 3cd album charts the early years of Peggy's re-involvement with Capitol Records. She started off with Capitol, moved to Brunswick and then back to Capitol. This new collection covers about five years of her recording with them on her return.
It includes difficult to get commercial singles as well as some of her choice excellant albums and is therefore not only good value but a "must have" for the ardent collector. I hope this is just the beginning of this series and in the future will include all other albums and singles that she recorded for Capitol.Superb arrangements and clear sound make this album a joy and can recommend it without hesitation.

3.0 out of 5 stars WHERE'S THE MELODIES?, 11 Mar 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
No follow-up musical has ever been successful and I'm sure Andrew Lloyd Webber knew that this was an almost impossible task. This was the sequel of Phantom of the Opera, the most wonderful of Musical delights ever to reach the West End. I have not seen "Love never dies" but the album does not make me want to reach for the phone to buy a ticket. I found it choppy with only a few songs sticking in my memory unlike it's predessor. The melodies are faint except for the title song and I wasn't reaching for the CD button to hear that song again. It could grow on me. It could work wonderfully in stage performance but in every instance I have heard, where the songs arn't there to stick in your head.... the resulting show has faltered. I must of course add....this is a lot better than many other stage musicals on CD! The DVD included in this package has no clips from the show...a pity....the atmosphere created would have added greatly to the need to see it. A trick missed.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST CD THIS YEAR!!!, 19 Oct 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Micheal Buble has proberbly recorded his best album yet and in doing so has embraced all sections of the record buying public. The voice is perfect whether scaling the heights or singing in his boots and each track is a gold star performance. I could not fault a track because each track has a magic about it that only Buble and the excellant orchestrations encompass. The changes from swinging band and sometimes swinging voices to smooth strings with full orchestra on other tracks. Listen to 'cry me a river' with pounding orchestral opening giving the standard a different dimension. Listen to 'Some king of Wonderful' ( an old Drifter's hit) smooth pop at it's best. I could go on. Do we have to wait another year for another album ?

5.0 out of 5 stars Perry Como...all the details., 29 Aug 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Perry Como has sold over 100 million records....I didn't know that. Perry Como had a withdrawm personality and brought the curtain down on friendships if things didn't go his way......I didn't know that.In fact ,this book reveals information about his life and career which has never been in the public domain before because he was a private family man and was not interested in personal publicity. He had a great voice and started the TV musical programmes in the early fifties and was more popular at doing this than any other recording star. All the details of his programmes and his recordings are here. One thing I noted....there is an amazing amount of unreleased tracks still in the vaults of RCA. There should be more CDs on this basis.

Any Como fan should buy this...It does give you an insight to the man as well as every minute detail of his performances and recordings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shatter your dreams! Read this book., 26 May 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have never actually read a book that describes life in Professional Musical Theatre quite so accurately or quite so realistically. For all aspiring stage stars this is a must. However if you are a parent whose teenager desperately wants to be a Broadway/West End star and has the talent; has the guts and determination and REALLY wants to go to stage school.....Give them this book...tell them to read it from cover to cover...then read it yourself. You will be convinced this is not the life for your fledgling. Fortunately I think they might agree with you. Life is as tough at the top as it is at the bottom in Musicals.

4.0 out of 5 stars The real recordings of the fifties., 22 April 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
So often when you buy an album with a collection of hit singles of a particular artist they can be re recordings made at a later date or poor quality recordings hastily put together for a cheaper market. These are the original Frankie Laine hits sounding exactly like they did if you bought them on 78rpm in the fifties and includes nearly all the hits. There is also a bonus of other tracks from other fifties albums making it a very good value purchase. One carp. Why on earth is "Rawhide" his last major single not included?

5.0 out of 5 stars That Voice ...with these songs..It's magical!, 22 April 2009
Jane Morgan has always had the sort of voice combined with excellant ballads that sends a shiver up your spine. Her major hit "The day that the rains came"(Not included here)is an instant example of that, and this album does not dissappoint.Wonderful versions of many showstoppers of the fifties and sixties with that clear strong voice with clear crisp sound this is proberbly the best Jane Morgan revived album available at this time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas in a nutshell!!, 30 Jan 2009
I really liked this album. It has all the warmth of Christmas in one nostalgic festive package. To some it might seem a little dated but herein lies most of it's charm. The orchestrations are wonderful and use of backing choir add to it's charm. Of course there are winter songs along with Christmas favourites with the outstanding MOONLIGHT IN VERMONT and I LIKE THE WINTER WEATHER and I could go on. Jo Stafford's voice is warm and sumptuous. Paul Weston's backings super! You can put this album on in November and still be playing it in March.Great Stuff! This album is now available in a different format. Search Jo Stafford on Amazon.
