Fantastic value in one package. There are real gems amongst his Capitol singles that you can't get in any other form
so this is a real find for Sinatrophiles. You are talking over three hours of vocal pleasure with Billy may and Nelson
Riddle arrangements. How can you go wrong ? To get the CD case will cost over £80. With this you get a booklet
and the official CD. Download (You need three blank CDs) and the whole thing costs £18. It's all a question
of money. ....the music's the same.

This is part two of a series of five and they are all as interesting as each other. Clear recordings
of established singers and orchestras. Perfect to play in the car travelling during the festive season
which is exactly what I do. Then pack them away for next year and they come up fresh as a daisy!

4.0 out of 5 stars JUST GOOD SINGING., 29 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The voice of Patti Page is wonderful. She knows how to deal
with a song no matter what the standard of Lyric-writing or
melody is. This album containing all her single releases in the
sixties and seventies says it all. When she has well composed
songs the resulting tracks are a joy....and when things arn't
so good her voice accomplishes a turnaround that makes you
wonder why she wasn't more popular in Britain than " How much
is that doggie in the window". She dominates poor material
better that most female singers but then there are some
songs on this album given a fresh "today" arrangement would
be excellant single releases for many of our home-grown
chanteurs. Beautifully recorded and excellant value. If
you're on easy listening collector this package is worth
the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars ALMOST PERFECT !, 17 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: ALEXANDER RYBAK: (Audio CD)
I keep telling people about this young man and his great
CDs but the fact that he isn't based in Britain and his
output is not available without Amazon is a pity.
Another great album from this talented singer, writer, arranger
of tuneful music of the easy listening kind. A distinctive
voice covering the Christmas Classics plus a couple of new
ones of which TELL ME WHEN is a standout. He plays the violin
attractively and extremely well and the whole album is a symphony
of strings and Festive favourites. Oh!...there is some muted brass around too....Oh! ...and some guests...Oh...and a great
version of SILENT NIGHT. It's pricey...and seems to come from
Switzerland. I thought he was Norwegian....Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST EASY LISTENING ALBUM YOU CAN BUY!, 3 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It is seldom I come across an album of easy listening music
especially with a piano taking forefront, that I can say
is one of the most pleasurable listening experiances I have had.
In the car, as background, or just listening to it this CD has
a lot going for it. Creative orchestrations of the Bossa Nova pops
and the deft piano of Joe Harnell take this to brilliance.Fly me
to the moon was the hit record that inspired the album but all the other tracks are just as wonderful....and different. Expensive it is ,but if you like lush creative music that
relaxes and it.

5.0 out of 5 stars AS GOOD AS IT GETS!!, 13 Sept. 2012
8 Albums from Peggy Lee in her top vocal form in the sixties. 4 classic albums
other four ain't that bad. This is proberbly the best bargain in the eight
album series and constitutes a saving of around £40 if you tried to buy each
album individually and then you wouldn't have them in a handy luggage pack!
IF YOU GO is laid back romantic sad love songs....beautiful....The latin albums
are up tempo delights....good to dance to...and CHRISTMAS CAROUSEL is a seasonal
joy. BLACK COFFEE is a cult album of Brunswick recordings...JUMP FOR JOY is a
big band tempo run through standards and THEN there is George Shearing backing
Peggy at Basin Street EAst on a live recording. Time to spoil yourself !

5.0 out of 5 stars Susan Boyle Album 3. The best yet!, 9 Nov. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
There is a quality to Susan Boyle's voice that makes you sit up and listen. On some tracks she sounds an innocent 21 year old, on others a sophisticated mature lady, but on all tracks on this CD she certainly surprises you with the sincerity of her performance.

It is the best of the three albums she has released with a choice of songs that ranges from the very well-known to the obscure but all are extremely listenable. YOU HAVE TO BE THERE from the musical KRISTINA is a fantastic Diva song and Susan treats it accordingly unlike UNCHAINED MELODY which is given a light emotional touch. BOTH SIDES NOW and MAD WORLD are successful because of the Boyle interpretations and a piano version of SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME is a loverly adept conclusion to the album. All the tracks are ballads and I wonder if ever she will make an uptempo album. If she does I'm sure she will succeed and a change of pace could cement her as the most popular British singer ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars BUBLE'S CHRISTMAS TREAT., 25 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Christmas (Audio CD)
Not quite as adventurous as hoped for but still a superb album. The orchestrations and choral backing are wonderful and the guests...the Puppini sisters, and Shania Twain are welcome additions to the festive songs. Standouts are HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS,CHRISTMAS BABY WON'T YOU PLEASE COME HOME,AVE MARIA,FELIZ NAVIDAD(especially good) and one new song COLD DECEMBER NIGHT.There are fifteen tracks on the CD running almost the hour so extrememly good value even if a few of the tracks have been released before. I suppose I expect more and was even considering only four stars, but there are Christmas plums in the vocals and as I listen more I know I will appreciate this album than so many other Christmas releases.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tighter,complete and enjoyable ANNIE., 16 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
For all ANNIE fans and for all new fans this is a slightly altered version of this happy musical. It has all the reprises and sparkles a bit more than previous versions mainly due to tight orchestrations. It also has ANNIE 2 plus extras and although ANNIE 2 is nothing to shout about at least it's there!
One song from ANNIE 2 is CONEY ISLAND or as it is on the record C..oo...ooony Island. A good song but the rest is not so interesting, however, if you're putting the show on or appreciate the extras it's a must-have!!

4.0 out of 5 stars My favourite female recording star, 5 Sept. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: My Heart (Audio CD)
I have to confess Doris Day has always been my favourite vocalist therefore this review is bound to be bias in her favour. The top songs on this album are the ones she chose as her favourites. These have been recorded very previously and the clear perfect voice stands out on all of them. ( MY ONE AND ONLY LOVE.OHIO.MY BUDDY.LIFE IS JUST A BOWL OF CHERRIES.)
There is nothing wrong with the rest of the tracks but there is an uncertain start on DAYDREAM and the voice is different than usual on the later tracks. I perfectly understand this.No ones voice stays the same as age takes over. Her son sings one of the songs HAPPY ENDINGS, the rest are laid-back versions of good songs. HEAVEN TONIGHT definitly sounds like a rejected single of thirty years ago.I loved it all. Doris can sing to me anytime she wants, even at 87 years old. Thanks for all the pleasure.
