2.0 out of 5 stars Short, 2 Jan 2014

This review is from: Ten Billion (Paperback)
Very short. Huge empty spaces in the body of the book.

Strange Formatting. Very clean. Very Empty.

Unsourced and unexplained info in places. If you already care about climate change, then you'll already be aware of very much of this. Almost none of it goes into very much detail. There's quite a few graphs, most of which I began to skip over toward the back of the text as they contain no more info than the previous few pages did.

I think this is a better borrow than a buy.

My 1 yr old Jack Russell sees this and other toys of it's ilk as challenge to see how quickly it can be destroyed. To the Kong Wubba's credit, it's one of the contenders. Poppy manages to chew the tail sections of the toy off within the first day. The last one we had survived the de-tailing and went on to a long life of being a squeaky fetch-toy.

Once the denim-ish covering had been removed, these toys have a hard-wearing plasticy monkey-nut shaped ball in them that's a decent toy in its own right. It took Poppy a couple of months to kill this off. Mercifully, the squeaker might fall out sooner rather than later.

Considering that your dog will destroy most £5 toys within a week, the Kong Wubba (small) is really good value for money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too cheap to return., 24 Oct 2011

I bought this last week and expected it to be bad based on the price alone. The DC charger that's arrived with it doesn't work. I'm not sure if this is because of the charger itself or the non-standard connector in the device. It'll require a multimeter to check this out.

It seems to work on batteries and has been fine for the hour that I've used it. FM only seems to work in parts of the band. From my limited use of the kit, the advertised range is a bit of a joke. I've managed about three feet before the signal starts to fade (rather quickly) down to nothing after perhaps 6 to 8 ft.

For my purposes (in the car - on the dash), the 3ft thing isn't really a problem, but if you require this device to pump out audio throughout the house or something, then maybe consider spending a little bit more money.

Also at this price point, it's hard to complain.

2.0 out of 5 stars Deceptive picture and use of 'HDMI', 3 Sep 2011

I bought this thinking it might be a converter from the standard wii output into a split between HDMI video and phono audio.

This is not the case. I received a standard Wii component cable. The picture shows the hdmi socket with a split off to LR audio connectors, but this simply ISN'T the product that you're about to buy.

As I said, this is the standard Wii component cable and you can get it much cheaper elsewhere.

I got this on a whim via kindle as I was an avid Spectrum gamer in the late eighties. It seems a fairly personal book but anyone who spent time with systems in this era will get something out of it. Only 79p as well!

2.0 out of 5 stars very weak, 25 Oct 2010

This isn`t the worst zombie journal i`ve ever read, but it is the worst i ever paid for. it reads like it has been written by a schoolchild. the characters are empty and totally unrelateable. the author must have done well enough to bother making a sequel, but you might want to save your money. even if it is less than a pound.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother, 23 Feb 2009

I downloaded this on a whim and it's taught me never to do such a thing again. I thought there might be some spoken examples, narrated intervals or narrated chords. All this appears to be is the titular chord from the track name played over and over again (preceded by the first, fourth and fifth from said major scale) for the entire length of the track with no narration or any other info.

Absolutely no effort seems to have gone into creating this 'album' and if there were any way to get a refund I would do so immediately.

If you are a even a novice musician, then you could replicate everything in this download in about 5 minutes.

Save your money and time - don't download this.
