An original insight into Europes Fans of NHL, 26 Jun. 2013
As European fans of the greatest hockey league in the world, there is rarely any geographical loyalty that is found with local sports. This book looks at the relationship between fan and game. The book itself is simple; send out a mass questionnaire to people around Europe with questions regarding their experience of NHL and then put it together in a book. However, it's this simplicity that makes it so good. Having a love of what is a minority sport here in the UK, it's always interesting to see how others got into such a sport and their view on it and they vary tremendously.
I'm not sure how much a non-hockey fan would get out this but I suppose this wasn't the authors demographic but for anyone who loves the sport, Europe or elsewhere, this is a great insight into fans. It's also quite interesting from a sociological perspective and as a Manchester resident, helps me to udnerstand why there are so many Manchester United fans around the world! :)
