Easter Rising 1916: The Trials
Easter Rising 1916: The Trials
by Sean Enright
Edition: Paperback
Price: £18.99

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read, direct, 10 July 2016
In response to an earlier review: I find the cover photo of De Valera prompts the question - despite all the deaths on both sides - there is manoeuvring in the upper power levels - military and political which if it were possible to foresee, I think the Volunteers would not have volunteered.
This book cuts to the chase. Bravery - compassion - skullduggery - Rule of Law ? if only that was so.
A great read, direct, concise, with the aspects of law and the expediency of the trials a fascinating, necessary conclusion to the struggles of a people suppressed by a major power.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this album, 29 Oct. 2014

How can anyone write hundreds of masterpieces as a Beatle, the most prolific entertainers in history, and yet produce this outstanding CD. No matter what anyone else does you can always come back to McCartney for the original.
I love this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars outstanding., 26 Feb. 2014

Absolutely outstanding. More so because this great man actually existed. A rare man of integrity and fairness.
The acting is superb - the storys - court cases - are brilliant and based on actual cases.
I just wish we had people like Mr Garrow around today in powerful positions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jaw dropping prejudice and ignorance brought about one of the biggest judicial conpiracys in history., 26 Feb. 2014

When you watch this incredible true story you can see why people followed Hitler. A whole community simply fell into line behind the police and the prosecutors. No one seemed to question the worth of the procedures which put 3 young men in prison for 20 years - one on Death Row.
I say "conspiracy" but I believe this was not a deliberate maneuvering for conviction - more of a blinded desire for conviction clutching at anything for which to convict.
I have rarely watched a story - 100% factual - with my jaw dropping at the behavior of people in power to bring about this serious miscarriage of justice.
Be careful out there ....... it could be you next ??????

Bob Marley is legend. On a par with the greats - Beatles - Elvis - Beach Boys - Stones, he has made his mark in history. This CD is superb.

4.0 out of 5 stars camera battery, 11 Sept. 2011
It is difficult to rate a battery in such short a time of using it.
It works very well so far. But how it will work in say 6 months remains to be seen.
The speed in which Amazon dealt with it, I received it in two days, was the prime factor in purchasing it. Because as with printer ink cartridges > no one knows what you will get and how long it will last until it runs out.
So far so good.

The Rule of Law
The Rule of Law
by T. H. Bingham
Edition: Paperback
Price: £6.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Rule of Law, 7 April 2011
This review is from: The Rule of Law (Paperback)
The remarkable content of this book is in the surprisingly direct and simple language Judge Bingham uses to explain a subject often regarded as complicated and wrapped in legal jargon. Here we have a man at the top of his profession writing from the heart, never losing touch with the people served by our laws as opposed to the people who formulate law at the very top of the legislative institutions.
I thoroughly recommend this book to all students intent on grasping constitutional law and appreciating the very roots of our strength of democracy.
