Price: £7.12

5.0 out of 5 stars Demanding and defiant, 30 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a book that not so much demands to be read as defies potential readers not to become actual ones.

The Accident: A gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist
The Accident: A gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist
Price: £2.24

3.0 out of 5 stars Thriller with a twist, 30 Mar. 2016
This is not just a novel but a thriller. Furthermore, it's not just a thriller but a thriller with a twist. That twist could be described as gripping, psychological or shocking, and each of these adjectives could equally be applied to the novel as a whole.

1.0 out of 5 stars To Endure Such Bad Luck in Love Would Induce Acrimony in Most, Yet Somehow Nobody Can Say Sam Smith's Bitter, 12 Mar. 2015
This review is from: In The Lonely Hour (Audio CD)
It's truly remarkable how one man can endure so much and still remain so chirpy.

For breadth of experience, Sam Smith deserves your attention. For his music, less so.

3.0 out of 5 stars The box canvas print Sam West rejects makes this box canvas print of "Paul Ross" the best, 11 Mar. 2015
This review is from: Box Canvas Print of Paul Ross
The market for box canvas prints of Paul Ross is rather a crowded one at present, so one asks oneself, What makes this particular box canvas print of Paul Ross stand apart from other box canvas prints of Paul Ross? Why the high asking price? The answer -- and I don't think other reviewers have picked up on this -- is that this is indeed a box canvas print -- I don't think anyone is disputing that -- but it's a box canvas print of Sam West, who is not really the same person as Paul Ross.

You can imagine what happened. It's not a very flattering print of Sam, so he probably decided not to use it. Somehow, as is the way of these things, its existence was brought to Paul's attention, at which point Paul will have decided -- and you can see what he might be getting at here -- that it looks like him on a good day; and since he doesn't get so many good days, why not use a little poetic licence?

In short, if you're thinking that this is one of the less visually abrasive Paul Ross box canvas prints doing the rounds, that's because it's not a Paul Ross box canvas print at all -- at least it's not a Paul Ross box canvas print as most of us have come to understand the term.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bunch of Boys from Cambridge, 11 Mar. 2015
In the early 1960s, a bunch of boys from Cambridge began jamming together, and out of those encounters were born the early incarnations of Pink Floyd.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hard to Get Nowadays, 11 Mar. 2015
This review is from: The Judoka (Paperback)
Arrived on time and was simple to fit to the plate and then display. I imagine it would be easy to remove as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another Mediocre Album from a Mediocre Artist? I'm Not Having That! Don't Let's Be Beastly to NoŽl, 11 Mar. 2015
This review is from: Chasing Yesterday (Audio CD)
Nobody expects NoŽl Gallagher to top Oasis, and Oasis weren't up to much anyway. I get the sense that "'Riverman'" is an attempt to record NoŽl's thoughts on listening to the Nick Drake song of the same name. It's no 'Solid Air', of course, but it shows that NoŽl is still trying, or rather beginning to make an effort at last.
