5.0 out of 5 stars The best series ever given a lavish DVD treatment, 11 Feb. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've had this on order last month, and last night it finally arrived. Starfleet was my favourite show as a little kid. With a great storyline, superb special effects and THE coolest thing ever to appear on the screen in the form of DAI-X, it was and is simply peerless.

The DVD package is superb, a real labour of love. It includes a collectors booklet, a graphic novel, postcards and a poster. The footage itself has been restored, and looks great.

And the best thing? Well, this show has always had such a dear place in my heart that I was a little worried that seeing it as a 31 year old rather than as a six year old would be a bit of an anticlimax. How wrong can you be. This is without a doubt the best thing I've ever bought from Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jazz - nice!, 19 Dec. 2003
This review is from: The Painter's Palette (Audio CD)
Only it's not jazz. It's black metal. No, it's death metal. No, it's prog rock. Oh heck, it's none of these things - it's just the most original record of 2003, so go buy the thing ok?

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb reference, 19 Dec. 2003
This review is from: Astronomy Encyclopedia (Paperback)
I had been looking for an astronomy encyclopaedia for some time, as I am studying for an Open University astrophysics degree, when I happened upon this excellent work. This book is simply fantastic - every entry is clearly written, highly accurate, and bang up-to-date at the time of its publication. The book is lavishly illustrated (mainly in colour). It is appropriate for the general reader, the amateur astronomer, the undergrad who wants a reliable reference source, and anyone with an interest in the myriad of curiosities that make up our Universe. Hats off to the authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brutal, cold, primitive debut, 31 Oct. 2002
Sepultura's first outing brings to mind early black metal (see eg Mayhem's Deathcrush), rather than the thrash (and later nu-metal) stuff that they are best known for. This CD isn't going to be to everyone's taste - the production is very raw for example - but I personally I love the whole atmosphere of the album. The standout track for me is War - try air drumming to that one! The Bestial Devastation EP is included too, which also rocks.
