2.0 out of 5 stars if at first you don't succeed try try try try.....again, 2 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
OK well this is not really a review of the product as despite several emails and live chats neither myself of McAfee support have been able to get this product actively working on my tablet.

I have a complication as my year old tablet has McAfee on it as preinstalled software. it appears I activated it and has it expired but for reasons I don't understand it won't allow me to use the new code with this product to run the software on My tablet.
The main issue is the way you activate and download the software. The normal procedure in my circumstances is to uninstall the software completely then reinstall. I cannot do this as preinstalled tablet software cant be uninstalled. It just returns to the factory default installation of the software. My advised option is to pay to update the preinstalled version which I find outrageous mainly because the cost of doing that is many many time greater than buying this licence. So my 2 stars is for the effort made By McAfee staff.

4.0 out of 5 stars Foreman Grill Still A Knockout?, 21 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
George Foreman grills have been around for a fair few years and have always been a great way to cook without the need for lots of oil. The sloped, griddled nature of the grill drains away excess fat during cooking.
This new/updated version of the grill is instantly recognisable with just a couple of style/design changes. It’s listed as a 5 portion grill though in truth placing more than 4 large burgers or chicken breast is a squeeze. The grill operates with a 2 light system red for on and green for temperature, there is no timer or temperature controls but in truth our previous grill had these and they were no shakes.
The exterior of this grill is black plastic and does get quite hot to touch, it also takes a time to cool down after the grill is switched off which was a little annoying. Having said that the “footprint” of this George foreman is smaller than the last 5 portion grill we had, so leaves us with more workspace so we don’t need to pack it away after use. The grill drip tray comes with the unit has had a slight rethink and now slots under the unit better than before, but they don't include the standard plastic spatula that was present in earlier units. We can only hope that the grill will maintain its non stick better than early models but this may be aided by the fact that the grill plates can now be removed for washing via small clips on the grill. Overall this is an absolutely wonderful George foreman grill and a definite must for anyone looking to replace an old model or anybody buying for the first time the health benefits of this grill are well documented and it's also quite frightening when you cook your first burgers to see the fat that goes into the drip tray.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Tin, 21 Jun 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The kit contains high quality genuine accessories. I for one do notice that that generic accessories don't last or work as well as the real deal. It's the usual deal 14 or 15 actual different tools with 4 or 5 replacment grinding, polishing and cutting dics for each tool that makes up the 75 mentioned. No issues for me with this kit but...

...this is a 75 piece dremel accessories kit which does come in a nice metal tin but im not sure why? let me explain...

The shiny metal tin contains a foam insert with 13 labelled accesories set into it. Next to this is a small plastic box almost exactly like the one i received when i got my Dremel 4000 for christmas. There are general cutting, grinding, sanding cleaning and polishing disks, although no ez-clic bits as stated in the online blurb above. The Tin box doesn't fit in with "stack boxes" that other dremel accessory kits come in. The Metal tin is also not deep enough to put the 2 small plastic boxes I now have. Infact I beleive that this accessory box duplicates pretty much everything that came in the starter kit i got with the tool. Ok so this is a restock for bits you have worn out and thats ok but why the tin. it is a nice tin though :)

4.0 out of 5 stars blue tooth portable speaker, 19 Jun 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Wonderful wireless portable speaker. This small compact unit packs a surprisingly good audio punch. The unit comes with small carry bag which in truth is a little thin and flimsly, also included is a wire connection option using a mini stereo jack to jack and a USB charger cable so it can fit into a USB slot or into an existing plug adaptor. As well as a clear and punchy stero sound feature buttons on the device allow you to pair this unit to your blue tooth phone then answer calls via the unit. Price wise it seems to be about right. I found the battery life to be fairly lengthy I used it on and off for a about a week before recharging it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super secure, 21 Nov 2013

This hardware encrypted memory stick seems like a perfect solution for keeping super secure those precious or sensetive files. Although it ticks the security box the price does seem a little steep. Setup was a breeze Excellent product.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Snip At The Price, 17 Oct 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These scissors are good quality, softgrip, comfortable to hold, very sharp and precise. Excellent for cutting through most standard household materials and can be used left or right handed. Although I agree with the reviewer who stated you would struggle to do very fine precise cutting as they are just to big for that. I also like the size and colour of the scissors and the price seems very reasonable. Very Nice

3.0 out of 5 stars You Love them you love them not., 19 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Ok on the face of it this seems like a really good idea and it is but the price seems a bit too much. My Daughter gets through earphones like they are sweets and she tried the tips out and found them comfy but they waxed up and 1 set deformed too much and had to be thrown. Overall a good idea but far too expensive

4.0 out of 5 stars Fast Access Blu Ray Player, 22 May 2012
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I bought my 1st Blu ray player 4 years ago and was drawn into the wonder of HD technology. The early models of players were dull and featureless."BD Live" features were slow and caused the units to crash fairly regularly. At times you would sit there for ages wondering if things would ever load up or if the unit had indeed crashed again.

Enter stage right the Sony BDPS490 3D. This slim black player worked like a charm straight out of the box. I have to confess I was underwhelmed with the lack of any cables in the box, you get 2 batteries and remote, not even a basic video audio line out cable. So make sure you order the cables you need. That little gripe aside you just Plug in and follow the simple on screen instructions. Anyone familiar with Sony products and there "universal menu system" will immediately feel at home and as one of those of who isn't, I picked it up real quick. Whilst mentioning the cable ordering it's also worth mentioning the need for a USB 1 Gb+ pen drive if you plan to fully use the players "apps" features or BD live.

With the relative "newness" of Blu Ray and the constant addition of new features on discs, it's important to keep up to date with latest "operating system" so that your Blu rays will play without any problems. The 1st thing the player did once I connected to the "net" was to update itself, which was a quick and fairly painless experience. Having a large collection of Blu rays meant I was able to test discs that I had issues in the past and they played fine after the update. For those who like to tinker there is a plethora of advanced settings which include audio, video and networking. So you can squeeze every last drop of Blu Ray/DVD/Streaming goodness out of your player.

The players connectivity is,1 HDMI out, Line out Video, Digital out, Local area network (100) socket, Line out audio Left & Right and optical audio digital out. There are also 2 USB sockets 1 front and 1 back. The player also has a disc tray child lock which is locked/unlocked by pressing down the play button for 10 seconds. The Controller is nicely set out and accessing features quickly and simply. For me a refreshing change that accessing features doesn't take forever. Thanks largely to the player quick disc/Feature boot up capability, this is an option within the settings an to speed up access times at the cost energy efficency.

The Picture quality seems great in both 2D and 3D mode tested on 2 different televisions for comparison, as in fairness the final image quality is going to be restricted by the screen it plays on more than the player. DVD playback also shows great images through the players up scaling capability.

Audio wise it has numerous settings and the options to connect to an external amplification device. I decided to try out the Optical connection which was very simple to set up my audio equipment and sounded great.

Network features the Player sports a whole raft of online "apps" which can be accessed from the menu system so places like you tube and face book are just a click away.

Ok so I really like this player but it doesn't hit 5 stars. Sony has other players out, some of which are lower specification, but have wireless network adapter built in. Part of the literature for this player states

Forget Cables
"Just connect a USB Wireless LAN adaptor to this Wi-Fi ready player and you're ready to take advantage of worlds of online entertainment. Access on demand services, share photos and music, stream content from your PC. Not a wire in sight."

With this unit you either need to run a network cable into the player or buy a separate wireless adapter. This also means that both the USB sockets on the player will be in use 1 for the Wireless Lan and 1 For the BDlive memory space resulting in a pen drive permanently on display sticking out the front of the unit.

Overall I think this a great player and easy to use. I love the speedy boot up and the ease of access of the features. Alround i think this feature laden player and it is good value for money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stay Tuned for the Next Exciting Adventure..., 17 May 2012
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The announcer chips in and the theme tune plays to pump the adrenaline and get the radio listener ready for the the next exciting adventure of Dick Barton- Special Agent....
Another offering in the Barton radio series and although not the original BBC broadcast from the mid forties they are an excellent re recording in 1949, for broadcasting in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
This Exciting tale sees Dick with friends Jock and Snowey attempting to work out the secret identity of a master villan only known as the Vulture, Via a series of 15 minute scripts which see our daring hero jump from frying pan to fire and back again.
Ok so its a nostalgic romp very much from a bygone, Politcally incorrect and less violent era, where the head in the box is still attached to a body that has infact been knocked out rather than killed. But I love it for its pure escapism and relatively harmless adventuring. Although I have to say that in terms of plot I prefered the Dick Barton and the Cabatolin Diamonds which i have previously reviewed. Its all good fun and though many say the contrived nature of the plotlines the constant episodic recaps and dodgy accents, don't do it for them, I say "tune in next time for Dick Barton Special agent" nuff said :)

2.0 out of 5 stars Expensive Novelty Keyboard., 10 Jan 2012
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Setting up this device was as easy as downloading the app and hooking it up to the Iphone or Ipod Touch. It comes with a selection of slide in adapters for the various generations and an easy to follow tutorial gets you up and playing. Unfortunatley thats were positives end for me.

The price seems crazy once you realise it doesn't do much more than an under 20 "childrens" keyboard. Ok you can email your final composition to a friend but despite several attempts we never managed that. The setup for the keyboard does allow you to make basic dance style tunes, but if you make a mistake or decide to edit your tune it is far easier just to delete your effort and start again. After a short time it's limitations either leave you wanting to get onto a proper keyboard or just put it back in the box. As others have stated in reviews I also feel this is an opportunity missed by the manufacturer, as they seem to be suggesting its a fun device aimed at budding musicians when it's really just an expensive novelty toy.
