4.0 out of 5 stars Re-Visitation, 22 Feb 2013
The Visitation is a good story from Peter Davison's first season as the Doctor. There are lots of good points to this story which makes it an excellent view. We also get to have an adventure in history which had gotten quite uncommon during the Baker era. It is probably one of the best from the 5th Doctor, and introduces an interesting monster, the Tereleptils, although this, to date, has been their only appearance, i find this a shame and there was more to be explored with these galactic criminals. The story ends with the intriguing twist of the Doctor starting the Great Fire of London, which I thought was a nice touch. As for the DVD itself this story is one of the last that was crying out for a Special Edition. The original had only very brief and quite uninteresting extras that focused only on small specific areas, this new release is crammed with new and fantastic looking special features, which I look forward to watching, we get a making of, where Peter Davison, Janet Fielding and Sarah Sutton are taken back to the locations used by Mark Strickson (Turlough, introduced the following year), and we get the next in the series of The Doctor Forever! Which, although none of it's parts has been released yet, promises to be a very interesting series of special features. Even if you have the original (as I do), I highly recommend picking this up at some stage for the wealth of Special Features on the two discs.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of Pertwee, John and Courtney, 22 Feb 2013
This story is perhaps the best from Jon Pertwee's run as the Doctor, and it is truly unique in it's era. It's the only story from the classic run to be set on a parallel world, and its the final story to feature the late Caroline John who passed away last year and was a truly amazing actress, and her talents are shown off in this story. Nicholas Courtney who has also since passed also gives perhaps his best performance, as a baddie! The DVD itself is also packed with special features, as well as all of the original extras (we hope!), there are a few extra including the final part of Doctor Forever! Which promises to be an excellent series, I'm amazed they've been able to fit it on two discs. As for why this story needs a special edition, I have the original and the picture quality is poor, technology has improved vastly in the years since (a whole 7!) which will restore Inferno to it's original glory, which will, i am certain, enhance the viewing experience of this fantastic story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Underrated, 16 July 2012

I bought this DVD expecting very little, but I was so wrong! This has become one of my favourite 1st Doctor stories, the whole story is excellent, especially the early spaceship set episodes. A very underrated story and a fantastic purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, 11 April 2011
This is perhaps one of the best Dalek stories, and is gripping from part 1, with some excellent special features (considering it was released early in the range) and scenes that are emotional, fascinating, action packed, and just brilliant, If you haven't got it, BUY IT NOW!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Watching, 11 April 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The Keys of Marinus has it's ups and downs, the ups being Episode 1, Episode 2, The Jungle Parts and Episode 6, the downs being The Snows of Terror and the special features. It starts of very interesting, and grips you from the start, then the next few episodes are very good also, especially Episode 2 with the city which is not all as it seems, Episode 6 is also very good with Ian's trial and the final confrontation with the stories main villain The Voord, (Which only appear in Episodes 1 & 6) The Downs are the Snows of Terror, Which is fairly dull and unexciting, and the special features, which there are very little on this disc, and none of them are that interesting... But good watching anyway

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Viewing, 11 April 2011

First up, An Unearthly Child part 1 is one of the best episodes of Doctor Who, EVER, but then the story collapses into a repetitive and dull stone age plot, the special features are nice though, and include some very good comedy sketches, An Unearthly Child gets 3.5 out of 5. The Daleks is the highlight of this set, with some interesting special features, despite not having commentary on all episodes, the story makes up for it, and is one of my favourite Black and White stories, 5 out of 5, The Edge of Destruction is also a very good story, and has the best features of the set, including the orgins of Doctor Who, etc... and gets a 5 out of 5, very good set and a bargain!

5.0 out of 5 stars What we've all Been waiting for..., 11 April 2011
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This set is what we have been waiting for, and finally, we get a classic companion (albeit not my favourite one but good enough) and a sixth doctor monster that isn't a dalek or a cyberman! Peri is a fantastic figure, with amazing detail, although one of the arm joints on mine is slightly warped, It is mostly a brilliant figure. And Sil, also, despite not having any articulation, is fantasticly detailed, and his tank is a lovely accessory, Well worth Buying!

4.0 out of 5 stars Day of the Daleks, 11 April 2011
Just before I begin my review I will point out it's "Day of the Daleks" NOT "The Day of the Daleks" Anyway, It's an enjoyable story and with optional CGI Effects, New Dalek Voices and added Daleks to bring the dalek count in this story above three, I think it will be well worth every penny
