Other books written by this author are referenced but it doesn't revere you to have read them first. Even if you haven't read, or have any previous experience with, Agile development before it takes you step-by-step through the considerations for dredger taking Agile in the BI arena. That said, I think you should have some reasonable overview knowledge to enable you to skim through some of the sections which can be a little 'over-wordy'.
Some good techniques in here to apply when breaking down the user stories and developer stories to enable you to still retain a focus on delivering business value through each iteration. I'll certainly be referring to these on future projects.

This is a good entrance for Simon Toyne. An easy read and well constructed plot. The opening scenes would make a compelling opening sequence for a film. Unfortunately, it comes across as too close to Dan Brown's Angels and Demons and needed something else to distinguish it from that work. I think I needed a stronger key character, one that would pull me back to the second book in the series - not sure it's quite done that. That said....maybe the continuous action will let me give the second book (The Key (Sancti Trilogy 2)) a chance.
