This is a good entrance for Simon Toyne. An easy read and well constructed plot. The opening scenes would make a compelling opening sequence for a film. Unfortunately, it comes across as too close to Dan Brown's Angels and Demons and needed something else to distinguish it from that work. I think I needed a stronger key character, one that would pull me back to the second book in the series - not sure it's quite done that. That said....maybe the continuous action will let me give the second book (The Key (Sancti Trilogy 2)
) a chance.
