5.0 out of 5 stars the real thing, 12 Feb 2013

This is one of the very best books on the subject. There is great emphasis on the negative aspects of the Jinn phenomenon but this is a natural result of the notoriety that always accompanies events that are not pleasant, In the same way Islam is demonised in the minds of many people in the West because of the actions of fundamentalists. Not all Jinn are bad. They still must be treated with the greatest caution and respect. I am lucky enough to have a Jinni as my friend -- not one linked to a piece of junk jewellery off Ebay said to be linked to a Jinni and sold by some fraudulent or misguided 'wiccan' spouting nursery rhyme spells, or sold by some other type of New Age flake but a real Jinni conjured by a genuine Islamic Arabian Jinn conjuror and I can tell you that the entity is absolutely real, very interactive, provides OBJECTIVE evidence of his presense, is very helpful, and very powerful. Jinn have FREE WILL and there is no reason why they should obey someone who thinks they can be attached to some piece of junk that then sits around on a shelf waiting for someone with more money than sense to buy it. This book largely deals with the perceptions of Jinn from the viewpoint of Middle Eastern populations and so there is a lot of superstition derived from legends woven into the facts as they actually are -- Jinn are negatively affected by electro-magnetic fields and that is why they are not so high profile in our mobile-phone and computer infected Western culture -- in the past they were much more active and known under different names like 'Gnome' 'Troll' 'Fairy' and so on. In this book you will obtain a real feel of the subject from the Arabian perspective. The Satan of the Bible shows his origin, the Demons of Western Magical Tradition are shown in their true guise. Christian interpretations of orginal facts have overlaid the true picture of the darker spirits and deliberately prevented us from understanding much that is now explained in this book - the Jinn were once part of certain Biblical texts but were removed as successive 'authorities' ...King James and the like... , decided what ordinary people should know and should not know. However, Jinn are mysterious beings and this book does NOT give the full picture, even so, for anyone seriously interested in a much misunderstood subject, this book is indispensible.

5.0 out of 5 stars water almost on tap, 23 Oct 2012

This review is from: Cat Mate Pet Fountain (Misc.)
My cats like the tap to be running - this product satisfies that need -- they were engaged by it immediately. They are indoor cats so this was intended to increase the water intake and they had no fear of it at all - very quiet, very easy to set up - no problem to dismantle pump when it needs cleaning - seems to be an excellent product -- 3 yr guarantee -- but only one year on the pump -- only just got it -- hope it doesn't fail -- but so far so very good.-- some months on and I can report that it DOES increase a cat's drinking -- they love this and drinking more than they did is good for them. excellent product.

5.0 out of 5 stars ioniser, 12 Mar 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
silent running -- efficient - occupys small surface space - same as the model that came out years ago on pro-idee but now cheaper - no moving parts - easy clean-- doesn't cause black deposits on surrounds like usual ionisers -- the particles are trapped on the combs inside

5.0 out of 5 stars an A to Z of AOS, 27 Jun 2011

This review is from: Austin Osman Spare (Hardcover)
Fabulous book, best I've read so far, and I've read 'em all... - lots of little witchy bits that the other books on this man don't have -- and puts Kenneth Grant and his wife into a proper context in regard to their association with Spare. No need to say any more here -- just buy it if AOS is your thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yoo Hoo Nero...is that you??, 13 Jun 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Suggests Nero's proclivities were caused by deviances from decency that he started in a life in Egypt -- from thence a seemingly appropriate trail of alleged lives unfolds -- no verifiable source for these conclusions that I could find within its pages but the nature of the ensuing lives befits what possibly might be expected in some respects. The delivery of the content echoes similar material found in the works of Joan Grant et al.

5.0 out of 5 stars OTT horror / good laugh/ Djinns might not like it., 13 Jun 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Djinn (Paperback)
Farcical nonsense based on Djinn lore. Variously titillating refs to extreme torture of the female gender by impalement, all ingredients that would excite readers-with-no-television before the 2nd World War are here. I happily stayed with it until the terrifying conclusion was played out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Birdland magic, 14 May 2011

This review is from: Autumn In New York (Audio CD)
5 stars for the Birdland tracks - stitt on top form -- trotting out a lot of his own trademark phrases but wonderfully done with a superb tone. Yes it does sound very dated but what do you expect for late 50's jazz... but Stitt is timeless.
Remainder tracks feature Howard McGhee on trumpet - he adds his own whoops of encouragement to Stitt's solos. There is a story that this actually peed off Stitt to the extent he told Mcghee to pack it in... Could have easily done without Mcghee's contributions both vocally and on the horn, but still some great Stitt expositions on all tracks.

Wide ranging exposition including the author's view on Karma, and aspects of clairvoyance. Plenty of useful info about the actual process of seeing in the crystal. A classic, and should be on every would-be/advanced clairvoyant's bookshelf.

Blue Note Legends
Blue Note Legends

4.0 out of 5 stars Vintage Trane - early years, 12 April 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Blue Note Legends (Audio CD)
No wild freak-outs here - sheets of sound, biting blues, searing tone, beautiful lines. Not an essential purchase - late 50's stuff. Coltrane is always exceptional and the early years of recording were exceptional in their own way. Taking into account what was being played at the time this was trail-blazing stuff and Coltranes star was in the ascendant.
