Guitar Theory review, 5 Jun 2009
This book is well worth the effort to read and practice. There are mistakes thought but in a way they test what the book has taught, so strangely they are a help. It is also good because it gives you an insight specific to the instrument - for example how to recognise intervals from hand shape. This is an introduction to music theory and will need some time to grasp. Iv had my copy for a few weeks and I don't have a great deal of time to read this but because the chapters are fairly short I can work through it over a few days and there are plenty of exercises to test you and further develop what you learn. Since starting this book I feel that I have started to think more about what im playing. My personal opinion is that you need to know this stuff to play different styles and it will help you develop your own style.
