Gray Mountain
Gray Mountain
by John Grisham
Edition: Hardcover

3.0 out of 5 stars I am a great fan of John Grisham, 22 Nov. 2014
This review is from: Gray Mountain (Hardcover)
I am a great fan of John Grisham, he has written many exciting books.
However, I am sorry to say that this is the first Grisham book that I have lost interest in about halfway through.
The plot should have been good, but it just lacked something.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spending time with C.S.Lewis, 28 May 2014
This short book consists of imaginary discussions with C.S.Lewis on a range of subjects, including Friendship, Suffering and Heaven. Alister McGrath does an excellent job of presenting what Lewis would have to say about these topics.
The book is easy to read but very thought-provoking.
Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sinatra at his best, 4 Oct. 2012
The years at Capitol were Sinatra at his best. This is a wonderful collection of the 'A' & 'B' sides of Sinatra's singles from this period and there are many lessor know gems in the titles, along with the popular hits. Some of my favourites are 'B' sides like 'Time after time' and 'Something wonderful happens in summer'. A collection to treasure and listen to over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Making history exciting, 22 Sept. 2012
Domonic Sandbrook has the rare gift of making history and politics readable and interesting.
Reading this book has reminded me of so many events I had half forgotten.
Britain's economic crisis in the mid seventies seems even worse than the current one.
This book is well worth reading.

I'm really enjoying listening to this new album from Katie Melua.
The songs and the backing suit her voice.
If you're a fan, go and buy it - you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of Sinatra's best, 4 Dec. 2011
This review is from: Nice 'N' Easy (Audio CD)
This is one of my favourite Sinatra albums. His singing is at his best, with stunning arrangements by Nelson Riddle and a great choice of songs.
What more could you ask for?

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoughtful and readable, 17 Nov. 2011
Tom Wright has the rare gift of being very intelligent, but able to communicate his knowledge in a way ordinary people can understand.
I am reading his commentary on the book of Revelation and finding it very helpful.
Revelation is a strange book, full of dramatic symbolism and Tom Wright's commentary tries to throw some light on the subject. It's well worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Pleasant Surprise, 11 Mar. 2011
This review is from: All Alone (Audio CD)
This Sinatra album made no impact at all when it was first issued in Britain and I had always assumed that this was because it wasn't much good. Having just purchased a copy and listened to it, I realised how wrong my assumptions were. 'All Alone' is an excellent selection of songs, beautifully sung by Sinatra with great arrangements by Gordon Jenkins. If you are a Sinatra fan, this album is well worth buying.

4.0 out of 5 stars Relaxing music from the smooth voice of Pat Boone, 2 Aug. 2010
This review is from: Star Dust / Tenderly (Audio CD)
I've had an EP of 4 songs from Pat Boone's `Stardust' album for many years, but the quality was very poor. Therefore, I was delighted to see this album re-issued after many years. The quality of the recording is really great and the album is a must for Pat Boone fans. My only comment is that the backings by the Billy Vaughan Orchestra could have had more variety.
