5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent images of less well known Dali works, 5 Nov 2013

This review is from: Dali by Dali (Hardcover)
This book is beautiful, mostly images rather than words but featuring some excellent quotes from Dali. I bought this as a gift for a loved one who lost her original copy years ago. It was as beautiful as she remembered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well written, easy to read discourse on Chinese ceramics, 5 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Chinese Ceramics (Hardcover)
Stacey Pierson (of the School of Oriental and African Studies) injects humour into her writing, making it a joy to read even for non-academics. It's very informative, and well laid out, with the focus primarily on Imperial Chinese ceramics and the trade throughout the (mostly) western world. There is an introduction to the topic (from the neolithic to the modern day), followed by chapters on production, aesthetics, consumption, trade and finally a discourse on Chinese ceramics in the modern world. The bibliography is good, drawing on both English and Chinese language sources.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helps make hair shinier and feel thicker, 5 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This product does make hair feel heavier and thicker, but it can be difficult to use as it has the consistency of water so I decanted it into a spray bottle. The downside to that is the sprayer gets clogged and has to be cleaned with warm water. The smell is quite distinct, I haven't decided if I like it yet or nor not but overall I like the product and interchange it with conditioners from Lush.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, well written, an enjoyable read as well as being highly informatiive, 5 Nov 2013

This review is from: Chinese Ceramics (Hardcover)
Stacey Pierson (of the School of Oriental and African Studies) writes with humour, injecting her obvious pleasure into the topic making it a joy to read, even for non-academics. It is informative, critical and well planned out. A must read for all those studying Chinese ceramics, with an introduction to the topic from the neolithic to the present day, a discussion of production, aesthetics, consumption, trade and a final chapter on Chinese ceramics in the modern world. The focus of the book is not neolithic ceramics, it is mainly Imperial Chinese ceramics and their trade throughout the (mostly) the western world. The bibliography is good, with both English and Chinese language sources.
