One Missed Call [Blu-ray] [2008]
Dvd ~ Shannyn Sossamon
Offered by Not2day Media
Price: £2.75

3.0 out of 5 stars It's worth a watch I guess, 2 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Another American adaptation of a Japanese Novel/Movie like The Ring. It's about a college student called Beth played by Shannon Sossamon who witnesses the deaths of a couple of her friends within a few days, which she discovers is something to do with the voicemails left on their phones from themselves moments before the time of their deaths but left a few days before they actually die. Sounds confusing right, but it is really easy to follow. There are a few creepy moments and should keep you amused for at least one watch. If you are into the American adaptations of Japanese films then this should be right up your street.

The film runs for 87 Minutes and there are no special features on this Blu-Ray. The picture quality and sound aren't too bad, It also comes with subtitles and Audio in English, French and Latin Spanish.

4.0 out of 5 stars DILLIGAF, 2 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this DVD because I am a massive fan of KBW. This DVD contains a collection of gigs but mainly his Irish leg of the tour, he also threw some documentary type bits in, plus bits of him in Dublin visiting the Guinness brewery and stuff. It isn't put together as good as his live down under DVD but well worth a watch. Kevin Bloody Wilson is a legend who sings some very very rude songs that aren't for the kids. If you haven't heard any of his stuff look him up on the net so you get an idea of what to expect.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love lamp, 2 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I originally bought this on DVD many years ago when it first came out and just loved it, so when it came to Blu-Ray it was a must buy for me. Will Ferrell is on top form like always in possibly is finest role ever. The Blu-Ray comes as the "Rich mahogany" Edition which is amazing because you get a full length (around 90 minutes) lost movie called 'wake up Ron Burgundy' as a special feature in this 2 disc Blu-Ray set. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the picture quality on both films, they were a little grainy for Hi-Def.

Here are the special features that are on the discs:

Disc 1:

* 2 versions of the film (HD)
* Commentary by Adam McKay, Will Ferrell, Lou Rawls, Andy Richter, Kyle Gass, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate
* Bloopers
* 36 Deleted & Extended Scenes
* "Afternoon Delight" Music Video
* ESPN Sports Centre audition - Ron Burgundy

Disc 2:

* Wake up Ron Burgundy: The lost movie (HD)
* Intro Commentary with Will Ferrell and Aaron Zimmerman
* Raw Footage "Good Takes"
* Cast Auditions
* Comedy Central - Reel Comedy: Anchorman
* Table Read 6/2/03
* And so much more!

So if you are a Will Ferrell fan or enjoy a good silly comedy this is one of the best Blu-Rays you can buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Classic 80's Action Film, 25 April 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
When I was younger I would watch this film alot, then years went by and I totally forgot about it. Then I saw they released it on Blu-Ray and I was eager to get it. The film has that classics 1980's action and funny one liners and shouldn't be missed by fans of the action genre. Starring Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell, the pair team up as two of Los Angeles best policeman who don't get on with one and other but have to work together after they are framed for murder.

The Blu-Ray Picture quality is good for a film over 20 years old and the sound quality is great.

Special Features: Trailer (that's it)

Run Time: 104 Mins

5.0 out of 5 stars A fierce and funny caper, 24 April 2011
From writer and director Guy Ritchie (Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels and Snatch) comes a brilliantly funny crime caper with plenty of action and an all-star cast.

The film is about an old-school London gangster called Lenny Cole (Tom Wilkinson) who decides to swindle a wealthy foreign Mob boss with some property dealings, but in time both are getting played by a small crew of crooks. Things soon start to escalate out of control when a painting belonging to the foreign mob boss goes missing.

The Blu-Ray picture is excellent and the sound is superb.

Special features on the disc include:

* Commentary by writer/director Guy Ritchie & Co-Star Mark Strong
* Additional Scene : Will you put the cigarette out
* Blokes, Birds and Backhanders: Inside RocknRolla [in High-Definition]
* Guy's Town: The director reflects on his fascination with ever-evolving London [in High Definition]

4.0 out of 5 stars A "feel-good" comedy, 24 April 2011
Funny film based on the book by English writer and TV personality Danny Wallace. The story is about a man called Carl Allen who is stuck in a dead end job and suffering from post divorce blues until he goes to a self help seminar and learns to say yes to everything and anything, and I mean anything. Excellent story with some very funny moments, this is a Jim Carrey film not to be ignored.

The Blu-Ray picture is nice and sharp and the sound is excellent

3.0 out of 5 stars Picture quality is terrible!, 22 April 2011
I bought this on Blu-Ray because I am transfering all my DVD's. I was very disappointed with the picture quality due to it not being any better than the DVD I had already owned, The sound is a little better but it doesn't excuse the fact that the picture looks so bad that it is an embarrassment to Warner Bros. for releasing it. I also had this problem with Warner Bros. The Matrix on Blu-Ray which is just as bad. However the film itself is great, loads of action and plenty of gore. I normally don't care to much for films with too much CGI but they done it really well in the action scenes.

The Blu-Ray comes with several special features including:

*Additional Scenes of the Traitorous Hunchback and Never-Before-Seen Giant Warriors [in Hi Definition]
*Frank Miller's Vision Realised on film [In Hi Definition]
*300 Spartans - Fact or Fiction?: The shocking life of a Spartan revealed [in Hi Definition]
*Who Were The Spartans?: How the actors built their characters based on Spartan customs [in Hi Definition]
*Webisodes: Go on set with the cast and crew
*Commentary by Director Zack Snyder
*- and more

So my final conclusion is, if you dont care if you own it on Blu-Ray or DVD, buy the cheapest because you don't get anything special with the Blu-Ray.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jason is BACK!, 22 April 2011
From producer Michael Bay (Transformers 1 & 2) and Director Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) comes a horror that will have you at the edge of your seat.

Its sort of a remake of the original "Friday the 13th" back in 1980, due to the fact its about a few teenage kids going to stay in a cabin/house by crystal lake, the film as some nice gory moments and some edge of your seat suspense. The cast seemed ok even though I didn't recognise any of them from other films or TV shows. It is definately worth a watch and a must buy for horror fans.

The Blu-Ray quality is excellent, the sound was clear and the picture was nice and sharp.

SPECIAL FEATURES ON DISC INCLUDE:

The rebirth of Jason Voorhees
Hacking back / slashing forward
Deleted and Alternative scenes
7 Best Kills

4.0 out of 5 stars WOW It's Kevin Bacon, 20 April 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I use to watch this has a child and loved it, twenty years on I still do. It is a little dated in the terms of 'horrors' today but they never had as much to work with as they do today,So you cant complain about some of the special effects. The story line works well and the cast is ok, I never realised as a child Kevin Bacon was in it (mainly due to the fact I never knew who he was) so there will be one familiar face amongst the cast for all you film fans who are dubious of films with no star actors/actresses in them.

The Blu-Ray quality is good along with the sound for a film from 1980.

Special features include:

*Commentary from director Sean S. Cunningham
*Featurette Return to Crystal Lake: The making of Friday The 13th
*A Friday The 13th Reunion: Cast members Betsy Palmer and Adrienne King, Writer Victor Miller and Composer Harry Manfredini reunite.
*Fresh Cuts: New tales from Friday the 13th: New recollections about the making of the film.
*The Man Behind The Legacy: Sean S. Cunningham
*Lost tales from Camp Blood part 1: New vignette styled after the original movie.
*Vintage Featurettes The Friday The 13th Chronicles & Secrets Galore behind the gore.
