5.0 out of 5 stars ...and soon I was engaged, 29 Sept. 2011
This review is from: Blood Count (Paperback)
Admittedly, This is my first encounter with Robert Goddard. I just picked up this book by pure accident and soon I was engaged. I have now a pile of his previous novels on my reading list as I am certain they are all equally engaging and interesting. I won't add much to other good reviews already penned and endorse their take. Get this book and find yourself a quiet place and a drink near hand as you would soon find yourself unable to put it down even for a split of a second and a refreshment would be handy to keep you going.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very interesting tale by a very interesting lady!, 28 Sept. 2011
What a beautiful and stunning memoir! I have always been fascinated by the eventful and highly prolific life of Winston Churchill and this private memoir is another powerful reminder of his legacy, his place in the 20th century and his continued significance to the present day. A very personal account of a very public figure. You would also come to realise Mary didn't live under her father's shadow and went on to live a fruitful and enriching life in the mist of those dreadful circumstances.

5.0 out of 5 stars I won't add much more to the synopsis but..., 28 Sept. 2011
This review is from: The Sound of Gravity (Hardcover)
It is always hard to praise a work of fiction without giving much of a plot away and spoil a firsthand experience a reader would otherwise have. I won't add much more to the synopsis but would tell you this: it is very moving, beautifully written and if you have a bit of spare time can be read in one or two sittings. The impact is of course longer and if you haven't read other works of the author you would rush to get them straight away. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very frank, informative and thought provoking..., 26 Sept. 2011
This review is from: The World's Wife (Paperback)
Carol Ann Duffy is one of my favourite contemporary poets and this book is one of her finest collections. Some poems only stretch to a few lines and some exceed a number of pages. All are interesting though and would find something there to your taste. This collection is Very frank, informative and thought provoking. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars The decisions that we are still under their influences..., 26 Sept. 2011
This review is from: Decision Points (Paperback)
A fascinating insight into the mind of a statesman who happened to be the president of the united state at the time of September 11th attacks. Highly revealing, sincere and informative. He was not of course dumb as certain sections of the media would wanted us to believe, and this book is an honest account of a man who was faced with the most difficult decisions of his life. The decisions that we are still under their influences ten years on.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was in tears by the end of the book..., 26 Sept. 2011
A very moving account of the First World War and the sacrifices those brave soldiers did for the rest of us. I was in tears by the end of the book. It undoubtedly hasn't lost its impact after all those years that was written. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating read by a misunderstood prime minster..., 26 Sept. 2011
This review is from: A Journey (Hardcover)
A fascinating read by a misunderstood prime minster. Would we learn more about his decision to take the country to war with Iraq and Afghanistan? - certainly. Would be swayed by the force of his arguments? - perhaps not if you are against any war any way. Has he shed light on his relationship with his chancellor? - yes, he almost has. Is it an honest account of his premiership? Yes, it is. Besides, It is elegantly written and the paperback version has an addition to it.
