4.0 out of 5 stars Great bright bulb, 25 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well, it's definitely bright, at least twice than a normal bulb. This helps visibility at night especially on very dark roads if they are dry. In wet weather you don't see much of a difference but I think it's obvious and no one expects miracles in difficult conditions. On the box it's stated that the longevity of these bulbs are equal or even less than normal bulbs so this is to be considered if you pay nearly twice as much as a normal bulb. All in all I'm pleased with it and shall buy again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not that much you might expect!, 21 Aug 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
When you buy an HD camera you expect sharp vivid images. Unfortunately images are not that perfect as advertised and details and number plates can't be read if they are not within 10 meters. The view range is rather wide and easily covers 120. Maybe this is why images are not so sharp and clear. Whatever it is, I was really expecting something better. The socket connection i.e. where wire is connected to the body failed after two days of use. Fortunately I had a similar but a better one made by TomTom that came in handy otherwise I should have sent back the whole item. Now it works fine and hopefully will no longer fail. All in all, it met only half of my expectations but in a car accident even half is better than being left to one's own devices!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Dictionary, 11 May 2008
At long last the third edition of Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary CD runs on a Mac! I'm glad that I no longer have to keep a PC at hand when using my iMac. Although its PC-like interface on a Mac leaves much to be desired but it's a relief to see that dictionary publishers have started to take Steve Jobs' fans seriously. Some of its functions like QuickFind run specifically on PCs and Mac users have to insert the entries manually but it's still worth using its quick reference. There's no installer for the Mac and users have to copy the needed files onto their hard disk but it's rather an easy task given that only two elements must be transferred. The book like all other previous dictionaries is well designed and can be easily consulted. All in all it's a MUST for all serious English learners and I highly recommend it. Thanks.

4.0 out of 5 stars a GREAT but SLOW dictionary, 13 Oct 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this dictionary a few days ago. I had already purchased its previous version and was therefore not new to it. The printing copy is simply gorgeous to put mildly and contains many eye-catching enhancements that make consulting a real joy. The CD version is also marvellous and has been greatly improved over the former except for one thing: SPEED! I had no problems with speed using version one on my computer. It was reasonably fast and in many cases searching a word was rather immediate. However, version two is painstakingly slow and it takes relatively a long time for letters you are typing to appear on the screen let alone searching for their meanings! I understand that Macmillan has made every effort to make its software more complete and powerful than before but the price of it is a tremendous sluggishness that challenge the patience of most users.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing book on depression, 6 Aug 2006
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've been suffering from depression for, God knows, how many long years. As soon as I started reading this book I immediately felt a great relief as if it was written specifically for me! I have read other books written by Dr. David Burns and have found them extremely useful but "Feeling Good: The New Method Therapy" has really hit the nail on the head. I think every depressed person can immediately identify himself with one of the patients described in this book and benefit from the solutions offered for his/her cure. It's amazing how effective Dr. Burns way-outs are and how simple it is to put them into action. I just feel much better one day after reading this book and thank heartily its author for having donated me a new way of seeing things to enjoy my life once again. God bless Dr. David Burns for being so wonderful.

1.0 out of 5 stars EXTREMELY BAD QUALITY, 13 Aug 2005
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I had already read about the negative comments regarding the bad quality and out of focus pictures of season 3. However, being a long time fan I couldn't resist the temptation and finally bought it. I bitterly admit that all commentators were right and the video quality of season 3 is worse than many VHS recordings from the local TV sources. Images are so compressed and out of focus that it's simply impossible to distinguish between actors' faces when they are standing in the background. Colours look unnatural and add more strain on eyes already tired from the blurry pictures. For fans like me who enjoy watching "Lost in Space" at any cost there is no choice except buying this low quality edition and put up with it. Those fans who care about quality (and their eyes), should abstain from purchasing this release and remember that it just takes the gilt off the gingerbread!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great research masterpiece, 17 Jan 2005
I'm leaving this note to advise buyers of the OED dictionary that the annoying copy protection restriction has now changed into a rather painless procedure. You can now install the whole dictionary onto your hard disk and put away your CDs in a safe place. Your key-disc is needed only once every three months for authentication. I don't think this causes any issue at all and is quite acceptable. The programme warns you after seventy days of installation that an authentication will be needed and gives you the opportunity to perform it right away if you have your key CD at hand or postpone it. The programme runs smoothly on Windows XP and is very reliable. It's definately a MUST for all serious English speakers and learners. Thanks
