Live a Thousand Years: Have the Time of Your Life; Wisdom for All Ages
Live a Thousand Years: Have the Time of Your Life; Wisdom for All Ages
by Giovanni Livera
Edition: Paperback
Price: 11.68

5.0 out of 5 stars Live a Thousand Years: Have the Time of Your Life; Wisdom for All Ages, 16 Feb 2009
I don't write many reviews on here buy felt compelled given the quality both in terms story and presentation of the book. The cover and inside covers of the book are really beautifully designed, lots of bright, cheerful colours and designs, you can tell that a lot of care, love and attention to detail went into it. The story is beautifully written, almost magically (appropriate given Mr. Livera is a magician) and i think his almost childlike quality and enthusiasm shines through and makes the book so easily accessible to all ages, kids as well as adults. It is spiritual wisdom for all ages.

Esentially the story's about a Businessman who's run off his feet with work, flying through life and missing the important parts. But then he runs into an old man called the time keeper who takes him on a literally magical journey to discover the 12 chimes which are the 12 key principles of a happy, rewarding life. I won't spoil all the story here. The book also comes with a beautifully designed poster which contains the principles to keep the thoughts in your mind.

I've read alot of spiritual books like The Celestine Prophecy etc, but in my opinion they aren't written as well as this. It's so uplifting and invigorating, it makes you want to take action and not just aknowledge the spiritual teachings/principles, but actually apply them in your life. Plus in the other books i've read you come across alot of the same old tired cliches, but Giovanni's sayings are fresh and enlightening. I've forwarded on lots of the quotes to my friends.

This is my favourite quote from the book:

"On everyone's tombstone, there is a name, the year they were born, and the date of death. However, the most important item on that whole tombstone is not any of those things - it is the dash between the dates of birth and death. The dash is your life. The quality of that life determines how many years you live - not calendar years, but meaningful years. You could live a thousand meaningful years if your experiences are rich and fulfilling. If everything ended right now for you, what would your dash say about you?"

I would highly recommend this book to everyone. It's beautifully designed with lovely illustrations, very well written and includes a poster.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fake!!, 28 Dec 2008
The author claims to have made contact to the alien from the alien autopsy video. This is very impressive, given that said alien was proved to be a dummy!!

Cashing in by the author. AVOID.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Overdue return to Brilliance!!, 18 Nov 2008
I loved Jagged Little Pill, it was so powerful, a pandoras box of emotions with aggression and strength, anger and . The follow ups IMO went progressively downhill and she lost that anger and power from her songs, though So Called Chaos was better, this is a welcome return to greatness.

This is as good as Jagged Little Pill for me with numerous stand out songs and not a bad track on the whole album. If you loved JLP, then i'm sure you'll love this too:)

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid!! Get Mean Girls instead, 28 Oct 2008
This review is from: St Trinian's [DVD] [2007] (DVD)
This was a terrible film. About as low class as you can possibly get in a film, the fact Russell Brand is in it tells it's own story. How Colin Firth got roped into this disaster i have no idea, it's damaging his reputation. Unprofessional, amateurish, shambles. If you want a great movie in the same genre, go see Mean Girls with Lindsay Lohan, that was superbly done:) Failing that, 13 going on 30 was also very good.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bandages rather than a Cure, 25 July 2008
I was disapointed with this book because it's only "band-aids" to temporarily make you feel better, it doesn't deal with the route causes of low self esteem or even begin to go in depth. It also could easily have been condensed into 200 pages instead of 367 because every page only has one tip which usually doesn't fill a 1/4 of it.

I can however highly recommend a book called "Total Self Confidence" by Dr. Robert Anthony. That book is very in depth, really gets to the core reasons for low self esteem and gives lots of valuable exercises to repair it. It's an excellent book that has really improved my self confidence and esteem.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite game of all time:), 5 Sep 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Warzone 2100 (Video Game)
People, i can honestly say this is my favourite computer game of all time. There are 3 large different campaigns with hundreds of different weapons and buildings to design and construct. The graphics are still good i think and the gameplay smooth. There are different skill settings so it made me me come back again and again. You start with building a base and then you need to defend it from enemy military. You acquire new, more advanced technology as you go along. There are loads of away missions too, where you need to fly troops to different countries not on your map. I loved building and using the hover crafts and the flying crafts too. As you go along, your tanks build up experience points. The more experience they have, the more accurate they are. This is a great game, the best one i've ever played. If you love RTS, this surely will keep you glued to your computer for many, many hours. I had the game on my playstation when i bought it originally, but i just bought it for my pc, and the graphics are superb. I'm really pleased with it. The only downside is your tanks Artificial Intelligence. The tanks follow a specific path, so when you are sending tanks to a battle, and some are returning for repairs, they get conjested in a big pile. That's the only downside, otherwise it's wonderful. A must own for any RTS fan :)
