5.0 out of 5 stars The Who's peak, perhaps Rock's peak too., 18 Jun. 2012

Difficult to imagine that its been 40 years since release (41 I know), it hasnt aged, it's theme's are no less relevant and it still sounds as good if not better. Why does it sound better?, well for one thing Rock hasnt really moved on in the way it could have, If this was year zero for Rock then we are still in year zero?. The possibilities for power coupled with vulnerability were all explored in just nine songs.

Pure and easy should have been included in the album back in 71, as a result its very difficult to get used to listening to it and regarding it as one of "Who's Next's" babies.

Many casual listeners highlight WGFA and Baba O Reilly, but for me the best songs were "The Song Is Over" and "Bargain".

5.0 out of 5 stars Elvis - Peerless., 3 Mar. 2011

1970 was Elvis at his very best, singing classics, definitive versions of great songs ("Bridge Over....", "Youve lost..." to mention but two).

He was energised, vital and cant be pigeonholed into any particular genre.

Words really do fail me, but he was at his peak and there is no one who had even 50% of his charisma, power or presence during this run.
