4.0 out of 5 stars Epic conclusion to the trilogy!, 22 Oct. 2013

Wow what an epic end to the trilogy! A great read especially after the very disappointing second book I was really worried this would be a bomb but credit where credit is due, Moody truly takes the hater world by storm and brings Dannys story to a truly stunning conclusion. The book is excellent, well paced, cracking action and you cant help but feel for our anti hero Danny. All the major characters left from the previous books converge on Lowestoft for an epic showdown where Danny will make a decision that will decide wether humanity has a chance at a future or not. Cannot recommend enough.

Dear oh dear oh dear and one more oh dear! This is a terrible book. Im sorry guys I disagree with the majority here that this is a good book. There are several issues I have with the book.
1) The first hundred or so pages literally add nothing to the story, and I mean nothing. Nothing of note happens at all as Danny continues his quest to find his daughter and heads back towards the city where he lives in order to find her. He doesn't is the summation of that first hundred pages.
2) The next hundred or so pages Danny has been caught by someone or a group and tortured as they try and rid him of his hate or is that what they are doing? The writing is amazing and the story is tense and engrossing but the outcome is once again just awful.
3) The next fifty pages is of Danny waiting around some house until he can go into the city and having second thoughts about the war, I'll sum this up in one word Boring.
4) The last fifty pages sees him in the thick of it as he enters the heart of the city and diverts from the plan to find his daughter, predictable action occurs.
5) The characters on the unchanged side we read about and get to know are just discarded at the end except for Lizzie of course, plain lazy writing. so why have I given the book 2 stars well the ending is pretty good and the book is very well written shame the same cant be said about the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just hope theres no such thing as a hater gene!, 27 Sept. 2013

This review is from: Hater (Paperback)
A very good and interesting take on the zombie apocalypse genre! I would say its a cross between a Romero movie and the legendary novel I Am Legend, Here we follow the breakdown of society through the eyes of a family man as he tries to continue his normal life while all around him chaos is descending. We get to witness the very beginning of the problem that the so called haters (those that kill without hesitation all those they feel that hate them) pose and the gradual escalation in the chaos that ensues with an awesome twist thrown into the mix too. Look forward to seeing how this trilogy evolves now that the epidemic is full blown and the two sides (Haters and Regulars) are ready to square off.

5.0 out of 5 stars A punch to the literary tastebuds and thats an awesome thing in this case!, 18 Sept. 2013

Simply put WOW! and yes i meant to put wow in capital letters. Just an incredible book and I cannot recommend it enough. If I had to sum it up in one sentence then it would be: kick, punch, shoot, knife, poison, bottle and any other means of violence possible and more on each and every page. The book is full of characters with none of them having any redeeming characters and all looking out for one person themselves! this is violent poetry in motion and would make an epic movie. If you like Tarantino then your in for a shock because his stuff is like my little pony after you get through this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars zombies, witches, wizards, and razor toothed midgets adds upto action and thriller galore, 7 Sept. 2013

Loved this book! Very well written thriller and action book. The story revolves around a stone that can grant immortality but only if it is used correctly. Joe has the unfortunate luck of being caught up in this struggle for the stone and becomes an undead who needs to feed on a heart every day to survive unless he can get hold of this stone. The main protagonists are a woman who has lived a long life, the man who comes to town looking for the stone and has some incredible powers, a nazi wizard and his bodyguard who has a razor toothed midget for company and a very powerful witch who has a demon in the basement. all of whom want the stone for one reason or another and its upto Joe to decipher the picture and who he can trust and cant. Add the cops and the local gangsters and it all adds to an all action blockbuster of a book. If i have one criticism of the book its that the ending is kinda short, the action between the two main characters tame and ends very abruptly.

1.0 out of 5 stars should be thrown into the depths of Hell where no one can get hold of this terrible book!, 16 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
One of the worst books I have ever read! its an absolute bore-fest and I personally would not classify this as a horror book. two thirds of the book is just a very bleak and depressing look at life on an estate in the north of England with very silly images interspersed in the story, for example one of the main characters sees a dog that follows him and he realises the dog has a human head. Do we hear about the dog again? That would be a definite no except for a sentence thrown in to remind us the author has some kind of grasp on his writing. Utter drivel. Rubbish story and a book I would not recommend to anyone. A complete and total waste of time.

This is an awesome book and having looked on the authors website am looking forward to the second book in the series! The story revolves around a war between a race of aliens fought on Earth through us humans. The aliens need us to survive and live within their human hosts. This is the story of a slob who gets his own alien Tao who is an important player in this war and has to turn his life around to help both the aliens and us humans to stop the threat of the Genjix (the baddies). Awesome action throughout, awesome thriller, and awesome everyday human dilemmas that we all face and how he faces upto them. Get this book and read it you wont be disappointed!

This review is from: Apocalypse Cow (Paperback)
Absolutely awesome read! Totally understand why this author won the Terry Pratchett award. I mean whats not to enjoy when killer cows, rubbish reporters, horny teens and nasty government agents are all involved in the story. A virus wreaks havoc on the wildlife in the UK turning them into horny killer zombie animals and its upto three people to try and find a way out of the carnage that ensues and survive. Both funny and violent this is a great and fun read. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Insane not to give it a read!, 10 Mar. 2013

This is an awesome read! The book has no dull parts and there is action littered all over every page! The dialogue crackles along like a tarantino movie! This needs to be turned into a TV series by HBO would be hands down a winner, if done correctly of course. Angels, demons and all sorts of mythical creatures abound as Stark seeks revenge on his former magic circle who sent him to Hell but hes back and definitely means business!
