4.0 out of 5 stars Decent machine for the price, 17 Feb 2014

I got this for my son's birthday, he's five in the next week or so and is always pestering me for my laptop to watch YouTube.

I had bought him an Innotab about two years ago but he was so used to playing with our phones that were much faster that that.

He hasn't gotten his hands on this tablet yet but I've been playing with it ahead of his birthday.

It seems to do what it says on the tin, YouTube plays just fine as does video loaded onto the MicroSD, games play well too.

Its not an iPad or Nexus, but if you have kids that are always on your phone/laptop/tablet for the money this is a no brainer. My lad is also hard on toys as well so if he breaks this its not a huge amount of money down the drain

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice media streamer at a low price, 3 Jan 2014

I had been looking at budget players like this for a while. The one feature I needed was a composite "out" for our older television

Being honest, the Roku LT was my first choice but it wasn't sold directly by Amazon and the company wouldn't ship to Ireland.

My WDTV Play arrived the other day, a few days early.

It was easy to set up,no issues with my wireless and I was on Netflix in a few minutes.

The remote control is light and comfortable, although its a little fiddly when you have to use it to enter usernames and passwords etc.

It was easy to stream content from my PC and it also has a handy USB port.

There apps like Facebook, Picasa, and Youtube but I haven't really used them much.

For what I wanted, Netflix and PC streaming, it does a great job for the price.
