Some daft 80s production tricks but who cares. Solid rock from the Hunter. Not heard it for 25 yrs. Wow it was good.

Lost album some time ago and was more than pleased to hear it again.
Just the business. His new one looks very tempting too.

Oh this were the days.
Great to see the music Hall mannerisms one more time, Nellie is a great character and you would be amazed how many of her unique phrases have become commonplace. Wonder what the kids would make of it all?

A good album of solid rock. The better album is'Play Loud'. Maybe the songwriting isn't quite there on this album?

A long neglected gem. Rocks from track one to the very end. Great guitar playing and a fine, fine 70s act. Love it, and really pleased to replace my home made version.

A real shame.
Under rehearsed and a long way from his best form.
I won't go on, but only buy this if you really must.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential reading for any blues fan, 7 Sep 2013

Robert Gordon's telling of Muddy's life and music takes you deeper into the river of blues origins than any other music biography.

He weaves in the country air and the city's concrete with the music that influenced the world.

After reading this I launched back into Muddy's music with new ears and direction. The book has brought me closer to the sound I have previously played to death and will do so all over again. Great read and great road tales.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sad to hear this terrible album, 18 Oct 2012

I have also been a fan of Alvin since '71 but this is the end of the line. It is awfull.
His last studio album (Saguitar) was going through the motions,. well this one is ony half finished.
There really is very little to commend - some nice guitar tones but no commited playing, dreary schoolboy lyrics and it is really limp to listen too. Home studio production values and some very clumsy cut and paste editing.

I am very sad about giving this opinion. If you like it good for you.

Heading back to my TYA albums forthwith,

Kill City was a flawed half finished affair when first released, but I loved it and would put it up with Iggy's very best.

Re released and re mixed. I can't believe how much better it is. Still retains it's raw edge but somehow is just.....well......far out !

Don't hesitate to buy this, it's on a par with Exile On Main St if you want a piont of reference !

3.0 out of 5 stars Oil & smoke vocals join kicking band in a minor gem, 14 Feb 2001
This review is from: Song & Dance Man (Audio CD)
You have to forgive them for the dreadful sleeve, the music is the thing. Touching on the sound and style of Steve Earle at first but growing into a confident album packed with great songs that improve with every listening. Although this cd wears it's influences loudly you get the feeling that there is something rather good hapening. Want the next one now. Best song the last track: Silver Lining. Splendid
