Philips B22 Bayonet Cap 5.5 W LED Frosted Light Bulb, Single Pack, Warm White
Philips B22 Bayonet Cap 5.5 W LED Frosted Light Bulb, Single Pack, Warm White
Price: £5.00

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, 9 Jan. 2016
Not bad. Two minor issues are that (1) they do get quite hot despite being LED energy saving bulbs and (2) they are fat at the bottom of the bulb which means they do not fit easily into lights which have socket covers (metal tubes).

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing ..., 2 Nov. 2015

The good points are that it makes the water taste better and increases my confidence that I'm drinking cleaner water. However, there are down sides, mostly linked to poor build quality. First, the small funnel cover repeatedly falls off and if you try to pour the water while there is still some unfiltered water in the jug it will leak through the seal and enter the filtered water area, but admittedly only a few drops. One of my main gripes is that there is also a lack of info on what exactly the filter removes from water and how efficient it is (lead, copper and "other heavy metals" - which ones? And how much of each metal does it remove typically from water as a percentage?) Brita is vague when it comes to stating which metals are removed and in what quantities and this doesn't fill me with confidence. Some studies http://labs.naturalnews.com/Water-Filter-Test-Results.html even suggest that aluminium content is increased in Brita filtered water but i'm not sure how valid such studies are. Is Brita water better than non-filtered water? Probably yes, but by how much I'm not sure.

3.0 out of 5 stars Has good and bad points ..., 4 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought his book to use for self-study for my ISTQB foundation exam. This book did help me pass, but some of the chapters are poorly written (esp. control flow graphs). Also, some of the exercises are ambiguous (they confuse "equal to or greater than" with "greater than" in some coding/partitioning/boundary examples). This confuses what are already complicated subjects and can lead the reader to get lost. Overall, not bad, but unnecessarily byzantine.

A handy guide for studying ITIL on the go. It may be out of date though for the 2013 updates (demand management, etc).

3.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the cover, but quite fragile., 16 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The content of the book is great and is up to date. The main problem is that the pages started to fall out of the book after day 2 of the course I was on. A bit of glue and it was better, but it could have been manufactured better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Laptop good but made utterly unusable by rubbish windows 8..., 2 Jun. 2013
I like the laptop; good battery life, nice look and very fast, but it is completely wrecked by the terrible windows 8 system. It feels like i'm using a giant mobile phone! Terrible 'apps' screen, no 'start' button, just awful really. Please Microsoft, next time you have a 'great idea', just ignore it.

Salter 9106 Glass Body Analyser Scale Black
Salter 9106 Glass Body Analyser Scale Black

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Workmanship, 23 Sept. 2012
This set of scales has a product flaw which makes itself known after a short time of use. The scales are touch actvated, when the user steps on the scales to turn them on. However the sensor which turns on the scales is activated by a cheap plastic component which snaps in the centre after a short time of use. This means that the scales lose their touch functionality and only work if the user presses the 'settings' button. And if you think Salter customer services will help you by sending 2 replacements for the sensors, think again. AVOID THIS PRODUCT.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Worthy 5 stars!, 29 Jan. 2011
This review is from: Ring (Paperback)
Amazing book, more detective than horror, but still sends some chills down your spine at points. Best as a standalone book, but good as part of the trilogy too, let down by the rather poor Spiral sequel though. One of the most original books I've ever read. Read this book with Birthday to get more info on the origins of Sadako.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great ending to the Ring Quadrilogy, 29 Jan. 2011
This review is from: Birthday (Paperback)
Loved this book. It provides a context for three important scenes over the previous three books. It is an easy read, since the reader knows already how things turn out. Suzuki could do far worse than make another Birthday-type book; detailing other scenes from the previous books. It did make me buy Dark Water though to get more of Suzuki's writing. Overall, this book is not truly part of the Ring Trilogy, but provides valuable insight into how things turn out. Better than Loop and Spiral (by far!), but the first Ring book is still the best.
