2.0 out of 5 stars A very different Peter Hamilton book, 1 Nov 2010
This review is from: Misspent Youth (Paperback)
This is not a typical Peter Hamilton novel we have all become used to. NOT a space opera. I felt like this book was an experiment trying to target the teenager market except for the inclusion of some mild sex scenes. To be fair, it was a well told yarn for what it was, just far from what we have all gotten used to expect from this author to date. Maybe this was an early novel from the slush pile before his current success and just now printed? It feels that way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Asher, 15 Oct 2009
This review is from: Orbus (Spatterjay 3) (Hardcover)
Well plotted classic Asher in the same universe as his previoous Polity books. I had trouble putting it down. A space opera that has depth like Asimov's Foundation series. Asher even managed to make me sympathize with a rather gory Prador character while showing a credible way that alien society could evolve with new leadership. Escapism at its best!
