5.0 out of 5 stars newtons cradle, 12 Aug. 2011
As an exteacher of phys/chem I like things that have "Talkability" about them, so this fits the bill.
It looks good on my mantlepiece and attracts people to it.
As most of my friends are also teachers of the sciences then this "Toy" fits in with them too.
The question that always comes out is
"That's good, what are you getting next?"

5.0 out of 5 stars brubeck desmond at their best, 2 Feb. 2011
Altho' it is like preaching to the converted, asking a long time Brubeck fan if he likes Brubeck this is one disc that I needed.
It is clear that there is a rapport with the audience that drives the music.
This is not to be missed.
The improvisation of both Desmond and Brubeck is fantastic especially Brubeck in this version of raggy waltz
I have now a set of "Raggy Waltz" that I could play constantly and do.

5.0 out of 5 stars laugh a minute, 30 Aug. 2010
This review is from: Parliamo Glasgow (Audio CD)
Stanley Baxter typifies Scottish humour and more specifically that of Glasgow.
To people of my age-group the mere fact of opening a book of his or listening to him on Radio or TV constitutes a serious risk or laughing for a long long time.
His humour is different from Connely who creases you up by having a "conversation" with you.
Baxter and Fulton were past masters at creating situations that were readily identifiable with the common man and woman.
Brilliant listening.
