Up to the high standard I regularly expect of this author, if not quite the most ingenious of her plots

An excellent summary of the restoration of a property in which I became interested after spending a day’s visit there.

3.0 out of 5 stars GOOD IDEA - NEEDS AN EDITOR, 26 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was interested to read the book, having read about it in my local Surrey Comet and knowing the locale. There are the makings of a good story here, but I found the plotting clunky and the writing slipshod. There are so many spelling mistakes: could the author not at the very least have put his work through a spell-check ? A case of: behind very good author lies a good editor – but then I would say that, wouldn’t I, as a publisher’s editor for 30 years !

4.0 out of 5 stars THE MYSTERY OF THE MISSING INDEX, 26 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Invisible Ink (Paperback)
Always interested in the IoS articles, and good to have them in permanent form. What a wealth of research must go into these weekly pieces. I have discovered several names from the past well worth reading or re-reading. But oh how badly the book needs an index – or even just a list of writers!
