2.0 out of 5 stars i was falling for this hook, line and sinker. but........, 14 April 2014
i'm so glad people give their time to write these excellent reviews. before reading them i had no idea this seemingly perfect tablet had so many flaws - flaws that have stopped me placing my order and sent me to another brand. for me the real deal breakers with this tablet are:-

1) no card slot for memory expansion. google want you to use their cloud for everything, which you are going to need, because 32gb isn't big enough to medium term future proof this gizmo and after the os has taken it's huge lump. that just isn't convenient for me often being out of service areas. i am not prepared to spend fortunes on 3g/4g access for music/video playlists when i am out of wi-fi range. very often i have no access at all when sailing for days on end - or wilderness backpacking for a week (where's your cloud then google?). having the storage i need onboard is crucial, not some virtual stuff that i can't access when i need it most.

2) no adobe flash. i need access to this. whatever sulks are going on between google and adobe (and amazon and adobe with the kindle) i don't really care, but i need access and this tablet won't allow it. google, you're the loser in this spat.

so google/asus nexus. thanks, but thank heavens for these reviews......and no thanks.

1.0 out of 5 stars a hopeless remake of an iconic classic, 15 Jan. 2014
roger & gallet l'homme was the best fragrance of its era bar none. sadly along the way the formula has been dramatically changed leaving a husk of a remnant of what it used to be. you can still find the odd bottle of original formula l'homme on ebay - and if you do, spend £40 on it and enjoy! but this rehash is a sad and devastating travesty of the original fragrance and i'm sorry to say, one for laying down and seriously avoiding. oh r&g, what have you done!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars only buy this if you have a bit oif class, 15 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
everyone will know it is you when you wear this highly unusual and evocative fragrance. unlike the modern day whiffs of cheap arrogance with heavy scented accents of drugs and bubble gum, this is an absolute smoked wood classic that oozes class. it's a billion miles away from the common and brash that drench the shelves of chemists and parfumers in the modern high street. roger & gallet certainly cocked up when they re-formulated the iconic 'l'homme', but at least 'open' remains unsullied and as amazing today as it always has been. a must have - but only for the discerning please!

5.0 out of 5 stars iconic must have, 15 Jan. 2014

stabbing you in the soul throughout but massaging your head as it does it, this iconic must have is an essential for any serious music lovers collection. when they grow old and unhip, the stereophonics can look back with justifiable pride at this few minutes of music history.

5.0 out of 5 stars a real cut above the herd. iconic, handmade and amazing value, 16 Dec. 2013
you see leather loafers advertised everywhere and they are now coming into top trend, but which to buy? well, if you follow the herd you go for the bog standard stuff at around £60 - £80 and you get something that is just a high street copy of the real deal, not iconic quality. if you want a premium product that harks back to traditional craftsmanship and that are the smartest loafers around, then these kades from maybury are second to absolutely none. the upper leather is top quality, high sheen, deep rich burgundy with superb leather soles. the inner cushion pad goes right along the shoe - your ikon, topman and harris wanabees only go half way. don't take my word for it, have a look see and you'll realise the massive difference in class.

these are handmade, will last forever if looked after, look amazing and are unbelievable value for money. they are stylish and bang on trend, but definitely a cut above the trailing herd. for sizing, choose a half size smaller than your usual. i bought these on amazon from FYFO(M&M Shoes) with smooth and fast delivery.

3.0 out of 5 stars plenty of wafting froth..., 25 Oct. 2013

promises much but delivers only sporadically. a great opportunity was lost with this collection as it meanders through an often disjointed selection of other world sounds. there are a few memorable tunes and 'taxi to bombay' is pure genius. some of the more contemplative tracks are just too weak though and i suggest you listen to all snippets before buying the album.

3.0 out of 5 stars flatters to deceive, 25 Oct. 2013

hmmm, this album is ok but certainly not the epoch making bumpin' collection that some other reviewers make out. there are a few memorable foot tappers but also too many that are just padding. i got the luxe version of the album but heaven knows what i paid extra for as amazon don't bother saying in any of their descriptions. for the toons that involuntarily make your head shake about like a bladder on a stick download them individually, forget the rest that are the usual album flotsam and save yourself a few quid.

3.0 out of 5 stars be careful who you buy from...., 26 Aug. 2013

my son wanted these for a school band trip to europe. ordered in plenty of time from claireshoes, they just weren't sent as promised. after a complaint they dispatched a pair that arrived on the morning of sons departure. he opened them only to discover they had sent a different pair of boots. i had to take him to a shoe shop on the way to get his coach - he wasn't impressed and neither was i. the boots were returned and eventually i got my money back.

to cheer son up for his return i ordered these again from a different seller on amazon. they arrived after a while and low and behold, completely the wrong boots again!! after a stiff complaint to the seller and a surprisingly welcome phone call back from said seller another pair were sent and a return bag for the wrong pair. eventually we got the right boots, but what a right palava to get them. also, all through the second buy the order said size 6, yet i ordered a size 10. it doesn't inspire any confidence and that bit is down to amazon themselves i gather. i wouldn't bother again i'm afraid. it's the proper shops for his shoes from now on, not slap dash e.sellers.

as for the boots themselves, my son tells me they are comfortable but they aren't that great in the rain. my own pennys worth says the sole and heel unit looks plasticky (no wonder they leak). i would have happily paid another tenner for something that looked better/lasts longer. it's not all about cheap, we would like a bit of quality to go with value please - and sellers who know what they are doing would be a help!

4.0 out of 5 stars low grade plastics, but terrific value and it does the job, 19 May 2013

i was dubious about this having read a selection of reviews, but chose a uk company to buy from so it could be returned easily in the event it was a dud. ok, you are paying a bit more for the benefit of that, but are you really going to send a faulty one all the way back to hong kong or china? it arrived very quickly and yes, the instructions are rubbish, but a bit of patience and trial and error and you'll sort it out in no time (if this technical idiot can do it, anyone can!).

first off, get a CLASS 10 sd card to use in this. anything slower and it won't work properly (mine is an 8gb class 10). secondly, the battery fits fine in its compartment (some on here said theirs didn't), it bursts into life every time the car engine is turned on (if you keep it plugged into your vehicles cigarette lighter socket - the lead is very long, so no worries there) and it generally turns itself off when you turn off the ignition (you can also easily turn it on and off manually). i have mine set for 5 minute slots of record on the lowest resolution (after experimenting, the video quality seemed no different on any of the settings). however, overall the video quality is better than i expected for this price, but night shooting isn't good. the mini tripod suction mount the camera comes with is more than man enough for the job in hand and everything swivels and tightens as it should.

to review the clips from any journey, you can do it on the camera itself or remove the sd card and pop it into a card reader attached to your computer via a usb. from 'computer' select the right drive and the clips will be available to download into windows movie maker or similar.

in summary then, this nifty and small item will certainly be sufficient to capture the vital evidence in the event of a frontal mishap on the road, but you're not going to win any cinematic oscars with it. it feels flimsy and lightweight and is certainly low grade, but it does the job surprisingly well.

top tip - buy from the uk to be on the safe side in case of returns. i bought mine on amazon from ukdigitalbay and delivery speed was very impressive.
