5.0 out of 5 stars A quality album, 30 Sep 2013

Having heard this album about a week before release via a free stream of the album, I can safely say it is a quality bit of work. It feels a lot more thought over a carefully put together than ABIII which in my opinion seemed rushed together, they didn't even give it a proper name lol. Seems to still have that dark theme to the album, could this be the album they wanted to put out instead of ABIII??

Stand out tracks include the opening track 'cry of achilles' the single 'addicted to pain' the title track 'fortress' and my personal favourite 'waters rising' which has Mark Tremonti singing lead vocals embellished with Myles Kennedy's vocals on the pre chorus and a very creepy bridge.

All in all a quality album maybe not on par with Blackbird but a good 2nd best, a definite buy.

I bought this poker set from bullets poker tables website which i believe is the same seller here. A friend of mine has the same set and i wanted my own for small home games of poker. The set itself consists of 1000 chips, 3 packs of cards, six dice and a carry case.

The chips come in packs of 25 of 9 different colors/values. You get 150 red/$5, 150 blue/$10, 150 green/$25, 150 gray/$50, 150 black/$100, 100 purple/$500, 100 yellow/$1000, 50 orange/$5000 and 50 pink/$10,000. They are of a nice weight however the sticker in the middle of each chip denoting the value isn't always stuck on properly making some of the chips look poor in quality and unusable even in a home game of poker.

The case provided is also poor in quality and is obviously not manufactured to take that amount of weight of chips. Also the lining to the case fell apart and came out very quickly. Would not recommend transporting the chips very far in this case.

The decks of cards however are fantastic. They feel very smooth and tough, really easy to shuffle and glide well across a table when dealing.

Overall i give the product 3 stars. The chips that aren't faulty look good and are nice to play with for a home game. The whole set feels like it was pieced together from separate products rather than being designed as a whole set. The good thing about this set is that you can buy extra chips if more are required. Good but could be better.

After the departure of Ryan from the band I was reluctant to buy this album. However the reviews seemed positive so I bought it anyway. I was shocked. The music isn't all that bad but the vocals are. No offence to the new guy but he cant sing. It seems as if he is trying to copy Ryan and its just not working. The only half decent song on the album if the title track True Self.

Take my advice and avoid this album, even if you are a devoted Soil fan like me, you will be disappointed. Stick to Scars, Redefine and even Throttle Junkies. They are far superior. If you want to hear new music from Soil, try checking out Drowning Pool's new album (when its released) with Ryan singing. Going by their latest song "No More" its gonna be great.
